May you quote the passage where I ask to moderate something?
Thank you very much

Coming back on the topic, Math Murderer and Jes are doing an excellent work on the test forum.

I did not mean exactly you, but what should be done with hits, which would not pass the criterium for interesting?

Testforum: Sorry, I am not good enough in English to follow the discussion.

The algorithm in study is not something with Yes or Now answer, but a ladder, something like a score

hit XXXX 100 points
hit XXXY 99 points
hit XXXZ 93 points
...

It will be something who will look like
(Km + 1) x days : (number of hits involving the two location) x ....
, so it is not possible that a hit may became "not interesting"

That's a real question: Will we have a filter then: "hits with more then 75 points", or/and "hits with more then 50 points" and so on?

The idea behind the suggested score for interestingness is that this metric could be used to easily rank / order hits, probably in combination with a time-based filter (e.g. most interesting hits in the last 7 days, best ones first). Ideally this ranking would also replace / subsume the current moderation system, which divides hits only into interesting and not interesting.

Maybe the score could also be calculated for each (logged in) user on the fly (e.g. ranking hits involving the users home country / city / himself more interesting), but maybe not.

The goal of this ranking system should be ultimately to give EBT users a handy tool to see the really cool hits on a glimpse. Personally I'm also not very content with the current listing, I usually lack the time to browse through page after page of todays hits. This has been much easier 2, 3 years ago ;-)

Keep the ideas coming. Let's improve EBT together.

So long as we are just looking to rank hits by some measure -- and not downgrade/punish/moderate any hits (as Nossi has commented), then I also think this sounds good

And as claudio via suggests, using time, distance, and scarcity as a joint measure should be...interesting!
