That's good because it satisfies both parties and the problem is "cleared" out. I also sold my counterfeit 20€ note last year to a collector.

A friend of mine got this 20er J/S as change in a bar.
Seems a counterfeit note, other than no holographic stripe paper is quite coarse, but I was be able to insert it on EBT.

It may just be a misprint. Have you checked for other security features?

Sorry to bump this thread, but I've found this €10

Notice how the P is unaligned?

This was my first €10 P/P.

Anyone got one like that?

Thought it was fake, but it had all the security measures.

At the moment, there are 178164 10€ P/P notes in the EBT database -list-. In the past, those notes were not that rare in Belgium. A smaller P is normal.

In the P notes it's very frequent, it seems like the letter P is a little smaller then numbers, and in the German-printed notes (R/X, P/X or P/P like yours) is frequent that numbers are not aligned, too.

we have P :note-10: here, but the P is aligned with the other numbers.

The best way to recognise if a note is fake or not is to run your fingers over the small print ECB letters in centre top of each note. If you can feel that they are embossed, then, the note is a good one. If not, there is a probability that they are fake. Also a note has its denomination written on top left corner, part of this is on the front of the note, while the rest is on the rear. When a good note is put facing the light, you can see the denomination no in a continuous way. Counterfeit notes still have the number, but the pieces from the number are not perfectly aligned.

I have seen a counterfeit EUR 50 note and it's really good, apart from the fact that it's a bit waxy, it also has a watermark and a hologram and the No 50 at the back of the note, does not change colour form live green to purple, as the good ones do.

Well be happy they didn't print 'Made in Germany' on their notes as a mark of quality towards other bills :D

If it's stamped with 'Made in China' you would be sure it's a counterfeit.

so if I stamp a note from my purse "Made in China", that will make it counterfeit? 8)
