I still don't know if I can come, and surely will not know before February or even March. It really depends on a lot of things.

The only candidate town I wouldn't go to is Tampere. It just doesn't look interesting enough to spend a weekend and some 200 € just on the flights. Sorry, Tamperians ( :?: ) Maybe you have some beautiful sights and interesting places, but I couldn't find much on the web.

My first choice would be Leiden, second Helsinki (although I've been to the Netherlands and never to Finland, which makes the choice quite difficult, anyway.)

I don't have a preference in location. Time is a more difficult aspect of the EBT-meeting for me.
Sitting at home ... behind my PC ... talking to Europe ... about notes?

My choice would be:

1. Leiden
2. Tampere
3. Helsinki
If you can keep your head when all around you have lost theirs, then you probably haven't understood the seriousness of the situation.

My preference would be
1. Helsinki
2. Tampere
3. Leiden

All of the above have their good things, but Helsinki wins cause I live nearby and I can sleep at home and it's cheap. 8)

I'd love to visit Leiden, but I have a serious shortage of money...

My choice:

1. Helsinki
2. Tampere
3. Leiden

I think Leiden is too close to Brussels. It will be best to choose next locations far away of the one before. Otherwise we never get to the countries at the far end of europe. And we wanna visit a new country every year don't we?

So, the next choice is simple for me: Finland.

It would also be nice for a later year to make a rendezvous point at a summer holiday village somewhere in Greece or Spain (or other country). Everyone books a hotelroom in the same city/village and come together to talk EBT and tour the city together.

Now let's hope that work allows me to go there, but i will put all my efforts in reaching a Finnish EBT Meeting.

Would be nice to pinpoint a date in the next month so that holidays can be set at work.

1. Helsinki
2. Tampere
(3. Leiden)

It might be possible for me getting to Leiden, but I can't say anything yet. I'm quite sure money won't be a problem, because if I've got half a year to save some 50€/direction (I can hitchhike the rest, anyway) there's no way I couldn't manage it. Probably. The bigger problem for me might be time.

But if it's Helsinki or Tampere, I'm surely with you :)

I prefer Finland, Tampere or Helsinki does'nt matter which.
I just want a reason to visit Finland.

1. Leiden 2. Tampere 3. Helsinki

Sorry for not wanting to cooperate in organizing the meeting in Helsinki, I am being really selfish as I want to go somewhere else. I would rather like the meeting to be held in Tampere than in Helsinki. People could extend their stay in Finland and come visit Helsinki after the meeting.

I do'nt see any German people here. Are they not interested in a meeting.
I thought that they were talking over a meeting in Germany.
If I am right I think that Germany also should be in the discussion.

1. Tampere

3. Leiden

Tampere is on 1 because I've already visited Helsinki (thanks to Evert) and Leiden ... I can go every day to Leiden, if I want to and it's too close to home for being on holiday  .
A EBT-meeting in Finland -mid August- will perfectly fit according my futur travel plans.

My main reasoning here is about travel costs. Although I'll probably go no matter where it is, I'd still prefer to be "closer to home", as it's probably cheaper (correct me if I'm wrong - and I'd almost bet the Finnish will :P).
