Dots in maps

I really don't know what to say. I could cry of joy. avij, you're the foist in the Irish svipstick!

Now that I bragged you (don't listen to me, you really deserve all the bragging), just a tiny request: could you make the default cursor on the dots map to be a normal pointer arrow instead of the "text select" vertical bar?

Huh, what kind of browser are you using? On my Firefox and even on MSIE6 the cursor is a crosshair, which I think is ideal for this kind of map.

Hmmm... Both on Firefox and IE6 here it's that stupid vertical thing. I even tried to change the mouse defaults, to no avail. The only "beam" cursor I had on mouse properties was the "Text Select" one, the "Precision Select" being a cross. So I changed it, but the only cursor changed was the very one I'm seeing right now on this editing box. (My mouse is a Logitech MouseMan Wheel on a USB port, and the driver is the Control Center 9.79.025)

Try the tests at http://www.echoecho.com/csscursors.htm and try if using some other computer helps. Sorry, I guess you're on your own here, at least if nobody else is unable to reproduce the problem.

... Well, I think I'll have to cope with my stupid "text" vertical beam...

EDIT: What the heck!!! It's working now, out of no change at all!

Hm, I've now moved all the dots very slightly to the east. Now your dot at least touches the border, so if your note was found at the border it should be okay.

Thanks, it looks good now.

I haven't noticed that any places are too east. Earlier I didn't see the dot of Viipuri in Russia, but now it is in the right place.

I have a similar problem: with Mozilla (1.6 or 5.0 now what???) I see a 3-pixel-wide (black-white-black) cross"bar", it's difficult to find the correct dots with that.

There's really no good explanation for your problems, but as a temporary measure you can use http://www.eurobilltracker.eu/dotsnormal.php instead.

I could tell a story about unluck. A friend of mine went to Germany yesterday. She's a tracker also. The same day she arrived, her wallet was stolen.

I made this for me, but it will probably be useful for you too.

I used a map to guess places for the squares without a dot.

While you were doing that marvelous work, I've done this, copying the style of your previous map:

I checked carefully for all borders and I am almost certain that nothing is missing or wrong now, except for those 2 red dots, which should be part of the borders, otherwise notes on Cabo da Roca or Berlengas will fall on the ocean.

(bocky, I've also made a grid with the exact limits of each cell, so later on I might add some locations to your spot-the-desert-map.

)

(This way, Portugal will be in fact missing 36 dots on its 114-dot map.)
