I was looking for Lisbon metro map and I found this link posted by you on the topic W-EBTM 2014 (March 15+16) Lisbon: Where will you stay?

in this map I found two green metro lines and clicking on Cais do Sodré and Cacilhas I realized the two metro lines are not linked
On the web I found this administrative map of Portugal and I saw that Almada is not in the same District of Lisbon. So it is easy to track banknotes from Almada District: I will buy a ticket in the metro

well... I'm a tracker but I'm a traveller too and I like geography. So, if it will be possible, I will have banknotes tracked from two districts of Portugal. In 2020 when I will see my Locations on the EBTST, I will remember that Portugal is divided into 18 Districts and 2 Regiões Autónomas and I took part to the Winter EBTM 2014 in Lisbon

Wow, that's a great idea if you find the time to do it.

In fact, if enough meeting participants show some interest, we can still think of moving Saturday dinner to a restaurant at Cacilhas (on that district). There are plenty of good restaurants there, although not much more to see. However, this will most likely make us skip Bairro Alto, which is a vital part of Lisbon by night.
(Note that we haven't decided on the restaurant yet because it will depend a lot on the number of participants.)

Will we be needing the Lisbon Card?

We're still designing the tour to include as many attractions as possible in a day without being too tiresome. So while it's not completely designed I can't tell you yet, sorry. I guess it will be advisable because it is very practical but you won't need to buy it this soon anyway.

I'm a bit puzzled by that last sentence. Getting a note from the municipalities of Almada or Seixal (Setúbal District) would require crossing the river. That can be done by road, railroad (there's a train line, not metro), or boat. Possible, yes, but not as easy as you may be thinking in the meeting's time frame. I see that Viterbo is already trying to encompass a quick trip to the "South Bank", as we call it.

Yes the easiest way to reach Almada without a car is by ferry boat from Cais do Sodre. As far as I remember the ticket for this ferry boat is not covered by the daily metro ticket.

well, I will stay in Lisbon monday too. So, if during the meeting crossing the river won't be possible, I can

As to banks, I believe you can enter any branch and swap notes easily, no questions asked, in general. In some pastry shops, snack-bars and cafes (there's tons of them), you might also ask to swap notes for larger denominations, if you bring fivers. Sometimes they need them, not always.

As to cash machines (ATMs), we have a very dense network of cash withdrawal machines accepting all kinds of cards, so you'll find them easily. They are called Multibanco here (nobody will understand the words Bankautomat or DAB or Bancomat, and few people will understand "ATM"). It's a single network and "Multibanco" is a brand but it's how everybody knows them.

You may see both the old and new signs for the ATM cashiers, since not all were replaced. Here's what they look like:

ATMs deliver mainly and but there are a few that deliver and even fewer that deliver . You cannot choose the denomination, so if you want fivers you should withdraw 15 euros.

I've done a map with all ATMs known to deliver . There's just seven of them in the entire town. There are about two dozen machines delivering and I plan to add them to this map but am out of time at the moment. In the meantime, you may check the full list of them here (not a map, just a list, and comments are in Portuguese).

So here's the map (if you click on the map image you'll be taken to the full interactive Google map). Notice that the correct postal code is given for each machine, when you click on its pin.

I don't know if you can answer this question already, but I wonder if we would need the Lisbon Card or a "Bilhete 1 dia CARRIS/ML 24 horas Rede" (24 hours metro, so not the discounts for musea/restaurants) (€ 6,00) might be enough?

Thank you for the reminder but the answer keeps being "not yet, sorry". I'm a Mediterranean typical procrastinator and still haven't found the time to design the tour properly.

Ok, as we have leave bit early and must skip sunday program. We'd really like to visit westest corner of continental Europe, Cabo da Roca. So, is there nice public transportation to there and back, if we want to visit there before sunday? And also want to go around the bay (Montijo, Vila Franca de Xira, etc), if public transportation runs smoothly? Thanks for the information and sorry to disrupt with our special request.
