someone even said somewhere that it is legitimate to mix the bundles you bring back to the bank in order to have many different (and valid) hits in case someone finds the whole bundle again.

my god!!! all this words for an hit...problem is the same of...5 years ago: we need two kinds of moderations: friendly and not interesting, now moderations is linked to fake/friendly hits and not to uninteresting hits and this could be irritating for somebody. I reput to all users attention possibility to have moderation for uninteresting hits...sometime...very often... when people go to same bank is very boring scroll hit lists. Other suggestion could be to start to reconsider EBT a game and not a work and stop to visit banks daily ..but this is an other discussion...

But if powerusers won't go to banks. they wouldn't be powerusers and ebt wouldn't have 115,000.000 notes inserted, maybe about 50,000.000 and much less hits. With no powerusers you may have 2 or 3 hits a year and that would be very boring too. Or what do think why Eurotracer is much smaler then EBT?

With no powerusers you may have 2 or 3 hits a year and that would be very boring too.

But if the hits are all similar is equally boring.

sorry, but why is citation needed there? i wasn’t going to make an accusation, and it’s not as if that was stated by an official support group member; it was just a simple user explaining things to a newer user. it doesn’t matter who said that when, because my point was that somehow (over time) people have gotten a different understanding of how things work. and from what i see nobody can blame them.

OK, the next time someone spreads such misinformation, please let him/her know that such behaviour is not acceptable. If someone does odd things to circumvent the automatic moderation, that user shouldn't be surprised if some moderator moderates some of those hits later on. You can refer such misinformed users to this post from now on.

Perhaps I should point out that my current plan is to switch to the hit scoring system some time this summer. The changes needed for the new Europa banknotes take priority, but after those are done, we'll concentrate on getting the hit scoring system implemented. There would still be moderators, but their role would be reduced to handling only some specific cases of abuse. They would no longer be deciding whether a hit is interesting or not.

There will be a process to submit previously moderated uninteresting hits for scoring and unmoderation, so at that point, it becomes irrelevant whether these LITO-beaweb hits were previously moderated or not.

If you have comments/thoughts/concerns about the new hit scoring system, please write them to the topic mentioned above. Let's keep this topic for the current system's moderation/unmoderation requests.

To come back on a more healthy discussion and where the real problem lies: there is a rule for considering a hit interesting or not : this rule should simply apply for EVERYBODY the same: if the "LITO-affair" would have been treated that way, we would have no affair for now !

Yes, I agree that everyone should be treated equally.

So, if you know of unmoderated hits that should have been moderated based on my "all but one of the hits taking the same path will be moderated" principle, let me know and I'll consider them for moderation. Please give specific examples, i.e. links to two unmoderated hits, of which at least one should be moderated because its path is too similar to the other one (specifically, the 2nd user should have found the notes from the same place at the same time). "Any recent hits between users X and Y" is unfortunately not specific enough for me.

The problem here is you think you know the whole path the bills took , but how can you be so sure ?
I know that my wife got the bills the day before I entered them (all from shoping and food downtow and at airport) and I can tell how they travelled from Tegel Flughafen to a hotel in Rome , but this was only 24hours before the hits occured , this may be the longest part of the trip if distance is considered but if you consider time it is only the very final part of the path , a tiny part of it . The unmoderated hit has 26 & 28 days of difference with the moderated ones ... 4 weeks , can you seriously tell the path they all took from beaweb' hands to Tegel Flughahen during those weeks , can you be so sure all 4 bills followed the same path during all that time ... tell me , and I don't need a scorning answer this time.

It is obvious that those notes travelled together (in the wallet of a flight attendant) and were entered by me at the same time

the most significant part of the path is the only known 24hrs pre entering period , all the other days are insignifiant ?.... well , mea culpa I ignored that aspect of the interestingness , probably not well translated in French
