When Netherlands printed the for Austria they used their own numbering system, but the Austrian printers are so flexible that the change also the numbering system for their customer!
Last year at our excursion to the Austrian printing press we heard some interesting informations about that but since we underwrote a confidentiality agreement, i am not allowed to tell you that changing the numbering system has much impact on the workflow!

The Italien one, because the Austrian numbering system uses the first two digits for representing the printing position on the uncutted sheet of paper (=last two characters of shortcode). And this is definitly not the case here, because all F002 starts with S61 and F003 with S60 (until now)!

Probably it was impossible using Austrian numbering.
As very soon we'll reach S3xxxxxxxxxxx serial code, using Austrian numberig they had to discard all short codes with 1,2,3 as last digit wasting loads of plates.
Now I'm wondering why they decided to begin serials with S6 instead of another one (for example S4)
