I bought train tickets Rimini-Bologna-Milano starting from Rimini at 18.09. I tought I'd like to see some Rimini too, so this way I have some time to walk around.

Although i am not present, I'd like to share my experience with changing in San Marino:

I don't know if banks in San Marino are friendly as I've never tried to exchange bundles there, so go there and let's try
You could try to ask to exchange bills in post offices too.

Changing at banks is dead easy! I tried to change €250,= to bills, and that was no problem. However, at the post office they refused to change €250,= to bills, but perhaps they are willing to change from bills for bigger bills.

I hope that some of my bills I left there (that was in the week after the EBT meeting in Ljubljana) are still circulating around. I urge everyone who visits San Marino to search for them!

I decided not to go to San Marino. It's too long to travel for the time we can spend there.

If you want to exchange bills, it seems to be easier outside the city proper (so, at the foot of the mountain, e.g. in Borgo Maggiore) - I easily got 100 there.

Went to San Marino today.

Nice place, and tracked about 25 - 30 notes from there but did not want to get 5EUR from banks.

I have also managed to buy a set of San Marino coins (mixed 2006 & 2007) for EUR 20 from the nuismatic shop and a kind lady at the bank gave me a roll of San Marino 20c coins for its real worth, ie EUR8 paying her in some Maltese coins. :D :D :D
