Klazu on the road

Hello from Rome!

We arrived here at 13:30. The hotel (Hotel Virginia) looks nice place to stay for three nights. We are at a nearby landry washing our clothes and using the web.

Yesterday we left Venice in the morning and headed to Bologna. There we left our baggages at hotel and left to Rimini, where we took a bus to San Marino. I must say, San Marino was AMAZING! The place is so high and the road there is... It was really nice day-trip. Althought it rained some time, everything was nice. The view was so incredible!

I also managed to change money in San Marino bank. I got 44 notes from there. Them I left to Bologna this morning when I visited a bank there. Those notes I have with me here in Rome and I am goint to take them to some bank.

Changing money in banks has been very easy and there is absolutely no fee for the change! 8O There has been some dificulties with the language, but finally everything has turned out ok. One thing that is a bit weird in banks here, is the door system. What is with the small box, where you have to go for small time to get in. It is so hilarious.

We try to see the Spanish Stairs still tonight and the fountain of the three ways. Tomorrow we head to Vatican to see the Pope (and of course to get some notes! ). We like Italia already very much! :P

Today it was our 2nd day in Rome. We visited Vatican today. The museum was a bit dissapointment, althought there were nice halls. But the St. Peter's Cathedral was amazing. The square itself was huge and inside the cathedral was beautiful! I liked it better than St. Isac's church in St. Petersburgh. And the scenery from the dome was breathtaking. 8)

I managed to get about ten notes from the Vatican. I also visted a bank 100m from Museum of Vatican, but I think that's already in Rome, not in Vatican anymore. Tomorrow we head to Colosseum and Forum Romanum. Also Pantheon is on our list.

Italy seems very safe country, dispite we had heard otherwise. We haven't seen anything threatning anywhere. Even the Rome's subway seemed quite clean and safe. Safety is a good thing, because it's nice to walk on the streets and enjoy the atmosphere. 8)

Hello once again and this time from Milan! At the morning we left from Florence and took a train to Pisa. There we went to wonder the famous tower for some time. I obtained about 15-20 notes from Pisa. From there we took a very crowded IC-train to Milan. The trip had very nice landscape as the train went in numerous tunnels just besides the Mediterranean Sea! Now we are in Milan in our hotel, 200m from the central railway station (which by the way is very beautiful station!).

Tomorrow we are heading to downtown. My girlfriend wants to shop a bit and I thought I could visit some banks. Too bad on saturnday in Florence I was not able to enter any banks, because they were all closed. It must have been because the holiday season... :?: I must also mention that in the historic centre of Florence, there are numerous banks! I saw about 15 different banks in just 200x200m area! 8O NICE... 8)

But this is enought for this time. Our trip begins to be over and we are leaving on Wednesday. So on Thursday first notes will be entered... :D

Non dirmi che non hai ricevuto nemmeno una banconota di Firenze??!!

E la nostra prima hit, allora?

Saluti I.love.euro

My dear Klazu,

Don't tell me you did not get ANY notes from Florence??!!

What about the chances of our first hit?

I returned on Wednesday night to Southern-Finland. And last evening I finally made it back to Joensuu. I have had very busy times here in Finland and I haven't had much time to enter my serials from Italy. I have only entered those which I bought from Milan to Finland, because they're already in circulation and can be found soon (they have been spreaded around several cities in Southern-Finland).

I must tell you that I have A LOT of serials on paper. I'll tell you the details when they have been entered. Of course I have also tens of serials from Florence, but there was some drawback with the city; there was lots of banks in the city center, but none of them was open on holiday season's Saturday. I understood that they would be normally open, but now they weren't. So one I got one houndred serials less from there, that I have planned. :( But don't worry. We have a change of getting a hit with each other. There was some 100€ notes, which I have understood that you have entered mostly.

But give me some days. I want to make my comments 100% accurate and make sure all post codes work fine. You know me... 8)

I have also one question. Could someone milanese tell me if there are any city districts in the Milano Centrale are or Buenos Aires / Lima station area? I have marked them as "downtown" but since they're several kilometres from Duomo are, I thought they could be part of some other city district. I browsed several maps but they didn't reveal anything. :? I hope you understand my question...

Ai lettori milanesi:

Klazu chiede:

Klazu - I've translated your question, let's hope someone in Milan can help you. Ciao!

I have now entered ~250 notes from different Milano districts. I have still plenty notes to enter. No hits yet (I'm not even expecting any). :(

More notes will be entered in just few days.

Have a nice time there! It's really beautiful city with many sights! I really enjoyed myself there. Venice was also a nice place. I hope you find something. I left many notes in the Termini region...

Congratulations on your holiday-hit! It is a bit harder to score a hit in Italy than it is in Finland.

Wohoo! :P

One of the fivers I took from Milan to Finland has already been found by Jani73. The hit is nice, because I spreaded all of those notes 90km from where Jani now found that one. So it has had hurry to travel to Helsinki. :P

I'm sorry I haven't yet wrote the summary of our trip to Italy. I'll do that in these days.
