Sorry, I don't know either. Yes, that rumor came up last month, shortly before Christmas. But I do not have any information beyond that ...

Apart from the ECB info about the €2 commems, by the way, there is another one at the European Commission's site:

For some reason, however, both pages list selected issues only. Later this month for example both DE and NL will issue a €2 commem. Neither of them can be found there. If Greece issues one this year, we may well hear about it before the editors of those pages do.

Side note: There are plans to have another common €2 issue next year. This "set" would commemorate the 10th anniversary of the introduction of the euro cash.

"Since some years it is standard practice that euro-area Member States together issue a commemorative euro coin with a common design to celebrate particularly important events. On 1 January 2012 it will be 10 years since the introduction of euro banknotes and coins, which is a natural and obvious occasion for all euro-area countries to issue a common coin. If these plans are approved, each of the 17 area member states would issue such a coin, probably with the same basic design again.

This year (febrary) The Netherlands will issue theire first 2 €uro commemorative coins (apart from the coins issued for Treaty of Roma and 10 years of EMU).



It represents Erasmus.... und due to a stange law, also our queen is on it.
