I project to spend a week in Tenerife.
I don't know if there are active EBTers there, i've seen that some finnish EBTers have moved from Finland, and live now in the Canary Islands, but apparently no active user.
Do you know EBT people living there ?
If it's possible, i'd love to meet EBTers there.
Feel free to send me PM.
Many thanks.
I am this week in Tenerife (Puerto de la Cruz) (Trying to avoid storm Bert, but it is folowing me   ) I am planning to rent a car this week to try to score all the 5 dots in Tenerife. I see you're not here jet

As I received some exotic country hits in the last time,
it was my desire to display the concerning country flags on the EBT profile page.
Unfortunately on the EBT profile page (signature) it is not possible to display images.
But all the country flags ARE IMAGES like https://es.eurobilltracker.com/img/flags/Spain.gif

Some days ago EBT member Klapotec transfered a list of country flags (gif) into smileys.
Smileys can be very well displayed on the EBT profile page.
Just have fun with the new feature!

Note: This "country-flag-smileys" work exclusively on the EBT profile page and not here in the forum.
see-> "Smiley Flag" for the United States :flag-us: does not work here but on the profile page it will work.

¡Hola a todos!

I'm once again heading to Spain this summer and I thought of maybe trying to find some ATM:s this time :D :flag-es: Usually I've just taken some bigger bills with me, and then gradually breaking them down during the stay. Something different this time. Is there any ATM:s dispensing :note-5: or :note-10:, or is there any other amazing tricks to get as many bills as possible? I can speak a bit of Spanish but unfortunately not yet enough to have a good conversation :( Practico cada dia y un dia del futuro tal vez podré hablar completamente! (probably full of mistakes, but it starts from somewhere..)

Looking forward to hearing from you!

Best Regards

Hola Tárrega.

There are no ATMs giving out :note-5: in Spain (at least not from bank controlled ATMs). :note-10: are dispensed (as far as I know) from Caixabank, Santander, Sabadell, Kutxabank, Laboral Kutxa... and I don't know of any others). I can assure you BBVA won't give you any bills that are not :note-20: and :note-50:. And expect no :note-100: or :note-200: from Spanish Banks. As to how to get more :note-5: and :note-10: use your big bills for small purchases in places with plenty of clients, smaller, less frequented shops might not have enough fives for your fifty and you might end up with more coins than wished. Be smart with your change. That's all I have to say.

Hola lapislazuli! :D ¡Y muchas gracias por tu respuesta!

I know there is a Caixabank in the village I'll visite, so that's really great! :note-10: are absolutely great too and actually a note I haven't reported as much as the :note-5: or :note-20:. Maybe :note-5: are more prominent in countries with less cash usage, e.g. Estonia (I haven't been there, but as a Finn I've read something about it on the Finnish forum). But that doesn't really fit so well with the fact that countries like Germany and Austria do have ATM:s dispensing :note-5: ... I don't know, maybe it'll come to España one day :) I will spend my bigger notes in large supermarkets, and maybe I'll have some really big notes, like :note-200: for you to find there - we'll see

Y a la sección en español: Voy a visitar la parte oriental del España, a un pueblo sé que llama Petrer. ¿Qué parte de España vives?

¡Buenas noches desde Dinamarca!

Hi Tárrega, I am also planning to go to Spain yet again and I remember last time most of the banks did want to charge me for withdrawals.
groentje wrote: Tue Oct 25, 2022 12:12 pm Hello, do all banks charge for withdrawals with a foreign bank card in Spain?
So when you get back, can you please share not only ATM's that allow foreign cards to select notes or even have :note-5: to choose from, but also if and how much did they charge as I have not seen the question from groentje answered here yet.

Thanks, Happy travels and tracking.

Hey Petox,

Sure. I'll check all the ATMs I can find in the village or neighboring city. Petrer has merged together with the bigger city Elda that surely does have all the different branch ATMs ⁣lapislazuli⁣ mentioned.

But I can share a small story from last year to start with..

Last November I was in Jerez de la Frontera. Some of my friends ran out of cash (even though I tried to convince them that 100€ would be slightly too little for a 5-day trip), so they desperately needed to withdraw some money. We walked around the city and ultimately settled for Deutsche Bank's ATM, as one of my friends recommended that. And yes, only a 4€ fee! :D I then couldn't resist the urge and withdrew some just for fun, as I had plenty in advance. And sure enough, they only charged me 4€ to withdraw with my Danish VISA card :flag-dk: I don't think I had an opportunity to choose any bills, I can't remember exactly, but the machine spat out a :note-10: and a :note-50:, which, by the way, was a good Duisenberg :) So that was absolutely great; I can warmly recommend that. I don't remember clearly the other ones we tried; I think Bank Santander was expensive, something like 8€ if I'm not totally mistaken.. :!:

So I definitely have to run them all through again and see the charges. I'll be back at the end of July, so by that time some information should arrive.⁣

Where in Spain are you heading to?

Hi Tárrega, Spain is my favourite destination, not only because of Canarias, where we have been many times, especially to get away from winter 8), but the mainland is awesome too.
This time we are flying out to Málaga, rent a car and spend most of the time around beaches north of Málaga, probably Almería: I do not have a plan yet, we are flying in October for 9 days, I know that Granada will also be on the plan.
I have already saved link in my bookmarks to book an appointment in Banco de España to get some commemorative coins and :note-5: free of charge :D . I hope you have it too, in case you have not thought of that yet - https://cita-previa-bde.clorian.com/en, they have branches in many cities.

Hi Petox!

Thanks for your fast answer and tips :D I love :flag-es: too, a wonderful county.

I didn't know that existed at all, but as a keen commemorative coin collector I definitely need to try this out! And some :note-5:.. Oh yeah!

It sounds like a great plan! I have (hopefully still) some notes circulating around in Andalusia after some trips there, so hopefully you find one of them

Malaga and the surrounding places are so wonderful. I can highly recommend visiting either Jerez de la Frontera or Cádiz, if you have time for a daytrip. I haven't been to Granada myself, but one day for sure! Both cities are very unique and full of culture (if that interests you) and haven't been spoiled by mass tourism, at least not yet.. October is a great time to travel to Spain, still so warm and nice, but so much less crowded.

Let's stay in touch!

Best Regards

Hi Tárrega, the odds of that are very thin, but we do not have a hit together yet, so let's keep hoping 8)
