It would have been great if you can zoom in your map, so that you can have a closer look at the dots/places. But I think that it's a wish which is not that easy to fulfill in the nearer future.

To use the dots.php page, the windows magnifier is very useful!
(Start -> All programs -> Accessories -> Accessibility -> Magnifier)

I found it, but I clicked on the last checkbox "activate contrast scheme". That changed my whole windows colours and text width several times, now all my windows have crappy colours I hope it's gone when I restart my computer

That's easy to fix, just right click anywhere on your desktop, click "Properties", "Appearance" tab, and change the "Color Scheme" back to normal.

BTW, I don't have that checkbox (I'm using Windows XP Professional with SP2)

Folks using Firefox may use a zoomer which I find much more functional than Windows Magnifier. It's an extension called Image Zoom and you can find it here:

I know this isn't the usual procedure in the forum, but since I got no answer on another topic (EBT Dots! under EuroBillTracker Statistics), I'll repost here where it might be more appropriate:

I think I have placed a new dot on the Portuguese map, with some notes registered a few days ago in the 6440 zipcode zone. Is there a way for me to be sure that I was the first?

As for dot hunting, this page may be useful. By clicking on the map you'll get a list of all the cities in that dot. Please note that this information is obtained from tens of thousands of EBT users, so there will be incorrect entries, such as Tampere being in Estonia instead of Finland. That page is not designed to be used for locating incorrect entries from the database. If that page is used for such purposes, the page will be removed. Any other feedback is welcome, just don't bitch about the incorrect city names etc found from the results.

This page has now been slightly updated, you can now use your own note map as the clickable image. Unfortunately you'll have to figure out the URL to your note map by yourself, there's currently no mechanism to determine who you are.

This new feature should make dot hunting a little bit easier -- just click on a square that you haven't visited yet, and you'll get a list of suggestions for your next visit to the countryside This method of dot hunting has been possible in the past by comparing the images side by side, but now the planning should be a little bit easier. The same rules regarding errors still apply.

Very nice, avij!
I was wondering why I didn't have a new dot when I entered some bills for a new place recently. Now I could confirm those places are both in the same dot.
And I have one dot on my user map with only one place "underneath" it: the most westerly dot in Ireland shows only "Inisheer" (a small island of a few square km), and exactly in the way I entered it.
Looks like I may be the only one to have entered notes for Inisheer .
