Hello mico, I tried both and they gave me the result that I expected. So I should say that both are valid.
Also this one is good: http://mapav.com/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; (but is only in portuguese) :(

Note for the participants:
In Portugal, the zip codes are 4 digits + 3 (this last 3 represent the street, or more accurate place inside a "city").
i.e.: 1100-578 [1100 is Lisboa and 578 is the street (Rua dos Sapateiros)]
If you only know the 4 digits, it's OK and a valid zip code to register the note, as for dots speaking, don't make difference in Lisbon.

We are writing on the program the postal codes of all the official places where the tour will pass. You will still need to know all the others where you acquire banknotes and you may use any of those sources to find the correct postal codes. The official one, though, is the CTT link you mentioned.

After the meeting, we'll be glad to help if you can't find there (at ctt.pt) any postal code for some specific location.

thank you efeesse
for using the website http://mapav.com/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; for Lisbon it is required to know the name of Freguesias=parishes where I obtained the banknote. According to me, for a tourist it is easier to know the name of the street/square (sometimes the number of the door is required) So, I believe I will use the three web sites to check the exact Código Postal... and probably I will enter my banknotes into EBT during the night

I took the liberty of putting together this quick tutorial for CTT's postal code tool, not because it's very difficult to understand, but rather because it's not terribly well translated.

So, after opening it, you may leave the "District / Islands" and "Region" fields blank. I don't think you'll be visiting any places with conflicting names (ie. more than one town in the country with the same name). Fill in the "Place" field with the Portuguese name of the town/city. Presumably, the only place in the Lisbon area that can be translated is Lisbon/Lisboa itself, Sintra or Cascais are the same in every language. You can also leave the door number field blank. Enter the address into the "Name of street" field.

Image

If you can enter the full name of a street or square right away, fine, but you don't have to. For instance, entering "aguiar" will suffice if you are looking for Avenida António Augusto de Aguiar. Then click on the appropriate "Areas / Sections" link.

Image

Search results are divided into odd (Ímpares) and even (Pares) door numbers. For some addresses you may get all possible results on a single page, while others may give a number of pages of results. If that's the case, keep clicking on "seguinte" to get the following page of results. The results pages also list companies and institutions that you may find at the given address. If applicable, you should use the postal codes given here for even greater accuracy. An example: a note obtained at number 132 of Lisbon's Avenida António Augusto de Aguiar could be entered with the postal code 1050-020, that would be acceptable. But the CTT has attributed an exclusive code - 1069-077 - to the building located there, the headquarters of Banco BIC (formerly Banco Português de Negócios), so it is preferable to use that one.

Departures. You may want to use this map of ATMs delivering :note-5: and :note-50: in Lisbon: http://goo.gl/wgkFBX. The markers are very carefully positioned and there's all sorts of information, including address and postal code for each ATM.

There's some changes to the initial plan but mostly to the better (and longer). The meeting will start officially Friday lunch at a restaurant with walls covered in banknotes of all the world.
Not sure if I missed it. Are there any plans for the meeting now?

Just a tip: put links to google maps or openstreetmaps for the locations. That way it will be 100% clear where the locations are.

Like Restaurante Oh! Lacerda (Google) or Restaurante Oh! Lacerda (Openstreetmap).

Thanks for the tip. It has been thought of. In fact, a lot more than that (addresses, geocoordinatess, postal codes, how to get there, …).

Here's a sample of how the paper itinerary will look like:

We're still undecided on which way will be the best to put this information online. We will put everything online (apart from the questions, of course; the one shown here serves as example). If we copy paste it here and add only the links, the format and readibility will be lost. If we put it on Google Drive or some other external drive, it might prove difficult for some to access. Any suggestions?
