Belgium is still one country, so it must be Belgium. Otherwise I would prefer you changed it to Dutch-Hasselt-German meeting.maarsy wrote:eddydevries wrote:Because it's closer to Germany as to Beglium, I listed this meeting asMr Euro wrote:*Kuch* Dutch-Belgian meetingBaliBennie wrote:The nextDutch meeting will be held in the city of Groningen on the 24th of Oktober 2009!

It would indeed be no surprise if no francophone Belgian is coming as the organisers of this event did not even bother to post any invitation/discussion on the francophone forum.
Would you come to a barbecue if you get no invitation ?

First, those who want to go to a meeting can find this topic (that's also one of the reasons this topic was writtenPhaseolus wrote:

Second, if someone want to go to a meeting, (s)he would also follow the other languages-forums (that's also the way I found out about the German meetings I went to).
In the topic itself EVERYONE is invited.

Again, would it be so difficult to post on the Francophone Belgian forum if you would like to have these people join.eddydevries wrote:First, those who want to go to a meeting can find this topic (that's also one of the reasons this topic was writtenPhaseolus wrote:

if you link it to the language forum, don't be surprised if this Community does not get the invitation.
But anyway, when someone does not want to hear...

Because we have an international guest on our participant list, we decided to have the next meeting's details fixed early.eddydevries wrote:You're very busy: the previous one is still coming and you're already organising the next one![]()

The reason why the organisers (me and Tjariet) didn't bother to place an invitation in other language-forums is simple. This meeting is a national meeting and it will be held in the Dutch language. The meeting is however open to all nationalities. In what language the people have their conversations we cannot control, but also here we do prefer Dutch so anyone can understand and join the conversation.Phaseolus wrote:Again, would it be so difficult to post on the Francophone Belgian forum if you would like to have these people join.

How people qualify this meeting is out of our control. We don't mind wether the meeting is called a Dutch-Belgian-German meeting, a Dutch-Flemish meeting or a Dutch-Slovakian meeting. For us it is simply a Dutch meeting where everyone who wants to come is welcome to join from any country in the world.
For example we will have some German guests. We have never advertised for this meeting on the German forum. These German guests are coming from the border region and understand the Dutch language. Sure there will be some German spoken in conversations on this meeting, we don't mind that as long as the main language stays Dutch.
And calling it a Belgian or Flemish meeting? The meeting is far away from the Belgian border. We happily welcome Belgian participants but so far only one has shown his interest in this meeting. As far as we know it is still uncertain that any Belgian is joining.
If we should put an invitation in the French language forum then we have to put an invitation in every other language forum too. And point out that the main language is and will be Dutch.

Re: National meeting Agenda
I posted it as "Brainstorming", because there's no place of the meeting known (and I couldn't find a topic in this forum).
