Ah.. you're going to hurt my feelings ! You weren't there the first couple months, tons of new features were being added all the time :) Then I changed jobs and time was more limited

Another thing is that the new server we run on allows us (=Avij really) to create new features that are more CPU & disk space intensive. For example all the maps stuff is much mucu more intensive in terms of CPU. Just an example : because the new server was more powerful the time the nightly update script took to run was average 5 times faster. With the new stuff added, it now takes about 35 secondes instead of 5. So on the old server, it would have taken 175 seconds and we would have been banned from OVH...
Also, disk space might have been a problem : right now the ebt installation is 55MB and the img directory is 20Megs (it includes a backup for distribution). So it would have been a tight fit on the 30MB-limited disk space we had on OVH.

That is true, I came in august 2002, when everything was already done ...
From august till New Year, almost no changes ... But a few great features (like the map) were introduced, then ... by Eurobilltracker, yourself.

But sometimes the day to day small changes, and the unexpected things, like diffusion maps, makes one happy... Almost every week there is a small (or major) improvement. I just wanted to share that happyness with you all. No disrespect for the initial effort that was made to get this site alive at the introduction of the Euro.

Thank you Avij (for the last time?)
It seems that I've worn you out with my endless requests, so you had to add this do-it-yourself option. :o I'm happy to do the follow-up, now that you've created this opportunity.

No, not at all, there were already plans to add such a feature for other reasons. Your request just coincided with that new feature, sorry if I sounded harsh.

Is it really bad when I'm a little curious to know what you both has said??
Finnish isn't really my first language... (I admit: I don't know a single word of it. But it sounds good! :) )

But offcourse you don´t have to translate if you don´t want to..

Yes. Nothing important, otherwise I'd have written it in English and with regular font size. Move on folks, nothing to see here.

Just for your information (in case you haven't noticed): I always update the first message on this thread, so the latest news would be available there. When there's a new entry (i.e. somebody gets a hit and is dropped from the list, I also check the other users' situation and update the amount of notes). So, today's big news came from Belgium: Wimpy out, Euro.be in. And guess is on the list after Euro.be? I'll soon have to nominate myself.

It occurs to me that a lot of unfortunate users are inactive.
Last time I saw XakiChaos on the list, of which I think he was a blocked serialist. Also Vangelis was blocked because suspicious and not replying to mail (if I recall correctly) Maybe it would be good to check out if all "unfortunate" users are of unspoken attitude.

Another conclusion could be that staying active eventually leads to a hit, one day or another

Then there is much room for hope: I must be around No. 3 of the German users without a single hit. Xakichaos will soon be reached by me and the average number of Gnarf is not far above me... :D

I fully agree with Skylimit that continuous entries of bills will lead to the first hit one day.

There's always hope! :D Yep, you are quite a tight group of users, Gnarf, Xakichaos and you - all of you have joined in April 2002 and your amount of notes is practically the same (somewhere between 4100 and 4200). In fact, on the German ranking list all of the following are hitless: #14, 15, 16, 17, 19, 20 and 21.

Err.. how should I check that? Send all of them an e-mail asking about their attitude towards serialism? :)

Anyway, both XakiChaos and Euro.be were passed by an active user (in Germany it was Gnarf and in Belgium me, Annie. --I just added the word "inactive" for my own information. When I'm updating the list, it's easier if I see at a glance that someone is both inactive and number one in their respective country - the amount of notes does not have to be updated then.

You sound surprisingly happy about that 8O :D

Well, the original idea was to update the list only when someone falls out "naturally", meaning that they get hit. Ok, I'll see what I can do in the near future, if you insist on being listed, who am I to take away your happiness...

But of course, the tradition dictates that persons who gain the unluckiest person status get a hit in a few weeks/months. That's why he's happy, he's getting a hit soon.

Oh, and you'll be the exception that proves this rule

Talking to me? Huh? Are you talking to me :?:

:P Well, I don't worry too much. Yet. There are still people on the list who have about 5 times the amount of notes I have and they're still hitless. Also on the ranking list about 38 % of my peers are hitless, so the odds aren't that bad. Ask me again about 10000 notes later. *wipes away a secret tear* :P

And Italian Money, please bear with me a couple of days. There's some movement in Germany as well, so maybe we'll wait a while. Asiamaniac is approaching Gnarf, and since A. is a regular on this forum and G. isn't, I'd favour him. Like Donald would put it, rule of partiality :o :D is taken into account.
