in 2002 the mint of Greece was not yet prepared to make as many coins as were required, so the mints of other countries were contracted to mint some of the coins. Some coins of Greece 2002 will have a mintmark from the other mints. For example, on the bottom star of the one Euro and two euro coins may be an 'S' for Suomi. These coins were made in Finland.
the 20 cent coins that have an 'E' in one of the stars were minted in Spain.
The other coins will have an 'F' in one of the stars and come from France!
if you look at the stars and think of them like the numbers of the clock face, here is a simple guide to find the mintmarks:
1 and 2 euro: "S" in 6 o'clock star, separating date digits
50 eurocent: "F" in 8 o'clock star, above date
20 eurocent: "E" in 8 o'clock star ,above date
10 eurocent: "F" in 8 o'clock star, below date
5 eurocent: "F" in 2 o'clock star, above right of date
2 eurocent: "F" in 2 o'clock star, below right of date
1 eurocent: "F" in 10 o'clock star, below left of date
of course if the coin has no mintmark, it was minted in Greece.
hope this helps.
