About the possibility of different languages in NIG.. Only some parts of the program have been designed to allow this. At the current rate, that feature will be implemented in 2050.. I'm just fixing and updating the most pressing stuff and waiting for the command line statistics generator (or some other replacement).

Creating statistics from selected notes is not possible anymore, sorry.

I just wanted to mention an error in the NIG codes. The village Vlijmen is part of the municipality Heusden but is at the moment part of 's-Hertogenbosch. Can this be changed in a next version?

What postal code did you use for Vlijmen ?

It should be between 5250 and 5252 - which is the municipality Heusden in codes_netherlands.txt

Woops I made a little mistake. I used 5251 for Vlijmen, and that becomes Heusden. The problem is that the note I entered in Nieuwkuijk is registered in 's-Hertogenbosch. And that is because I entered the postal code wrong (5235 instead of 5253).

Can I ask to change this error somewhere?

I ask myself; when i start NIG i have to wait 35 to 40 minutes to get the box with the 20 somethings NIG can analyze. When i click on OK (or what ever) it takes also 40 minutes with the final results. Because i have a limit in "my website" i do not choose everything or it would be even longer. So at present NIG takes about 80 minutes to come up with my statistics.

Is it not possible to get the box with choices directly when you start NIG?

Also when i start NIG it almost completely blocks my PC from working normally. Entering banknotes and several other things i can forget when NIG is working my banknote- and hitfile.

I'll give you an answer, although you're talking to yourself only: When you start NIG it first loads all of your notes from the csv, which takes some time, and then it generates the statistics files when you say so. If you would merge these two steps into one it would mean that you could not search your notes unless you have processed statistics generation...
Think about buying a more powerful computer, that might help. A bit.

Hello,

I'm working with the nice NIG tool version 1.71. Unfortunately I'm getting an error message by creating the statistics. It works fine as long as I don't want the trivia in the statistics. With trivia it tells me: "Invalid floating point operation". I had no problems with version 1.652 that I used before.

Anyway, the tool works great and big thanks to the developers.

Yesterday I downloaded the version 1.71 of NIG.

But with starting NIG I get a message which I didn't get with the previous versions: (in fact it's in Dutch, but I'll try to translate the texts)

This file doesn't consist a valid digital signature which confirmed the publisher of it. Execute only software from publishers you trust.

Is it possible to solve this with the next version?

My next question:
Executing NIG, it shows some messages in the log-box.

Those messages (codes_belgium.txt) were shown with the previous version too, but this message (codes_france.txt) is new:

Third question: I missed the codes_luxembourg.txt within the nig171.zip, so I copied it from the previous version.

My fourth question is about a statistic: "Notes by Location".
It says I got all the possible first letters of the Netherlands ("X" doesn't exist) and one more extra ('s).
But I got another one too ('t), but why doesn't NIG recognize it?

I finished my big project to include all cities and municipalities of Germany into my codes_germany.txt.

They are in diffenent groups for each Bundesland.

I also included the 2077 cities of Germany, and the smallest municipalities (200 by population - 100 by size)

Just in case you're thinking of doing something like that for Portugal, I must tell you that I've been working on codes_portugal.txt for long and it will be a 1200-line file. If you are or anyone is working on the same project, please inform me.

I sometimes have troubles with the big block of frequently used comment words. It is sometimes not limited to words that are used at least 19 times, but it looks like all words used more than once are in it. But this is not always the case.
