Re: Stamped notes
Continuing with stamps on notes, our american "sister" website, WsG, used to sell stamps encouraging banknote tracking.
There are some nice examples, one of them a stamp with some rectangles that indicate serialnumber and year series:
but there are some excessive examples:
Laws concerning banknote printing in US just say "The law defines 'illegal' defacement as defacement that renders bills unfit to be re-issued"
So, even dolar6 banknote is not retired of circulation. And this is not the worse I've seen...

Re: Stamped notes
Finally, some banknotes that I have had in my hands:
This one was together with another three, but was the only one where the stamp was readable. It reads AUTRORIZADO ADMINISTRACIÓN. The bill had also handwritten by a non-skilled adult a few times all around, the text "PARA TITA ANA CON AMOR Y PAZ" (for aunt Ana with love and peace) and this Ana or nephew maybe living in a country with a strong control over foreign currency import/export: This one is quite a typical one, and it is said to count amounts of banknotes: This one is a triple crime:

Re: Stamped notes
And th next ones are from exchange offices. They use these little chopmarks to identify the banknotes they trade in case of customer claims.
Remember that clicking on the photo makes it appear completely.
I got the 50er from a "normal" passenger,
But the 20ers were given to me by colombian passengers, in both cases, that had bought Euros in Bogotá:

Re: Stamped notes
Finally something that is not a stamp, but (luckily for me) got off the quality controls. I don't even know if it has any remarkable value...
I insist: please upload pictures resamplered to 850 pixels width to EBT server. It is the only way you guarantee they will not disappear.
And remember that clicking on the image makes it full frame.
Best regards to everybody.
Jordi.

Wow, nice series of posts there, entertaining and informative.
That "defective" one is truly remarkable.

Re: Stamped notes
Hello everybody.
I know this bill is not stamped. I have been looking where to show it, but I haven't been able to find an appropriate thread to show it.
https://ca.eurobilltracker.com/notes/?id=127846502" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Today I have been given a real surprise.
If anyone knows what value it can have, if any, could kindly write any comment, please?
No mistake. It was a Norwegian family with a fantastic English, fluent and natural.
We did have abosolutely NO communication problem. Not a misunderstanding possibility. No mistake. Conversation has been complete, clear and fluent.
They paid me with a
. Printing condition. Uncirculated. Ink-smelling.
Perfect, except because one of them took it off his shirt pocket and was not absolutely "plate". But does not have any foldings. NOTHING.
Then I realized.
I asked them for the origin of the banknote. If they had been in the euro area before. If they had kept it from a previous trip.
All the answers negative. The definitive sentence was "WE GOT IT THIS MORNING IN OSLO".
Yes, dear EBTer collagues:
This bill HAS BEEN PUT INTO CIRCULATION TODAY IN OSLO, Norge. Pity I didn't ask if they had more...
Remember that clicking on the photo makes it appear complete. The coin is for keeping the banknote folded without marking it.
I think it was not printed before 2002. It is actually plate #10, but in any case it carries Wim Duisenberg's signature, meaning that it has been for quite a few years in the bottom of a safe in an exchange office in Oslo.

Re: Stamped notes
Again a bill that does not have any mark. It is not a very old one, but it has been heavily folded and stored in a humid place.
It is this one
Remember that you can upload images with the "upload attachment" button below the writing box, and that if you click on an image it apears complete.
Jordi.

Is the MO44 code on the right side an error? There is a banknote with a usual printer code (with 0, zero) on the left side.
On topic:CNGL wrote:Allnotes of the Spanish sheets from M043 to M046 have an O instead of a zero, it's a printing mistake that seems to have been fixed for the M047 sheet...

"Banco" something.
