Sein kompositorisches Werk weist einen individuellen Stil auf und lässt zahlreiche spätromantische Einflüsse erkennen. Die meisten Kompositionen entstanden aus Eigenbedarf des reisenden Konzertgeigers, darunter Sechs Sonaten für Violine solo, welche heute einen bedeutenden Stellenwert innerhalb der Violinliteratur genießen, sowie acht noch nicht vollständig veröffentlichte Violinkonzerte.
