Well, now I know that I won't get any leave for the days around the meeting weekend. I may still attend, but if, then only on Saturday and maybe Sunday; I'll recheck the train schedules.klapotec wrote:I still don't know whether I can make it, but if so, I'll be there for the whole weekend, and I will come alone (my better half has better things to do).

Well, since the train schedules are awful and there's no convenient flights, I'll have to stay home again this year.klapotec wrote:Well, now I know that I won't get any leave for the days around the meeting weekend. Hopefully I can finally make it next year.

@klapotec:
ÖEC 150 leaves Graz HBf at 19:26 on Friday evening.
At Wien Süd you will change to a Kurswagen that starts its trip by hanging behind D202. You will cross the Czech border at 23:33. After showing your passport to the dude, you will get to sleep. You will cross the Czech-German border at 6 in the morning. That means you have slept about six and a half hours. Not extremely nice, but not really all that terrible, either.
If you manage to get sleep, you can sleep for some 45 more minutes, until you arrive to Dresden. You will be there at 06:47.
Your IC 2070 will leave Dresden for Berlin at 07:04, arriving to Berlin HBf (Tief) at 09:12. That will leave you just the perfect amount of time to bring your stuff to wherever you are staying and come meet us at the meeting place. (It's also a good option leaving your luggage in a locker at B HBf).
You should have enough time to pack your stuff after coming back from work and you will arrive to Berlin at the perfect time. That ain't bad. Now come on!

I know, I checked that out; but - this is the more expensive option when I'm not that liquid right now (the special low price train goes via Nürnberg and Leipzig and leaves a few hours earlier); and I don't want to only spend one day in Berlin - getting back while also spending most of the Sunday in Berlin (or even better going to Potsdam) doesn't fit in with my having to be at work Monday at 10 at the latest. I wanted to be there for the whole meeting anyway (especially the party); I just hope next year there won't be an important customer (in this case Daimler) causing deadlines that interfere with EBTM.Dakkus wrote:You should have enough time to pack your stuff after coming back from work and you will arrive to Berlin at the perfect time.
