The user formerly known as beaweb wanted to have her account removed, so it was removed. There was nothing suspicious with those note entries, as far as we can tell.

removing account is ok, but why removing notes too?

to protect personal information you can delete comments. i see no reason to delete the bill entries.

This is the standard procedure when someone wants to have his/her account removed. Those note entries are gone and they're not coming back, get over it.

Yes, there are some older entries which have been anonymized as such. However, we stopped that practise some five years ago.

[edit] And even back then, the anonymization was done only if the user agreed to the anonymization procedure. If the user didn't agree to that, the notes were removed. We have never kept any note entries against the user's wishes. [/edit]

totally crazy !!! if she wants to go, ok , it's her problem !! she should have no influence on the database especially because they were genuine bills, final point !
this has been repeated here many, many times by many, many users !!

you are KILLING ebt ! it was already declining seriously , but "jokes" like this one will not help to attract more users and will disgust long established users the same way!

This is a consequence of avij 's frustrating moderation policy and "I do what I want no matter what others feel" attitude .

the bill entries still belong to the user, not to EBT, so if they insist on them being deleted...

why the devil are you still owner of the number of a banknote after publishing it on the internet?
the real owner of the numbers is the "Banque Centrale Européenne" in Frankfurt and they don't care if some hobby tracker copy those numbers or not on the net !!
also: after copying the number on the net, you spend the bill: it's not yours anymore !!

anyway, right or not, this action destroys the confidence as well of power users as of small users who had maybe only one or two hits with her. Sincerely: I would not like to feel in the skin of another Berliner user and loose overnight half of my hits(with a so thin justification like: "she was owner of her data's").
You would like to kill ebt, you would no behave better

i do agree that users must have the possibility to have all their entered data deleted. there are already too many web sites where people are not in control of their data. and no, once you make things public they still belong to you. people must be able to wipe out everything that is known about them on a web site, everything they have submitted or made public. in germany this is called informational self-determination. i would find it very dissuasive if one has not the option to draw back from ebt again, taking with him or her all the note entries. especially with such a sensitive subject as money this should be self-evident, in my opinion.

nevertheless of course i regret to have lost my hits with beaweb, among which was a very beatiful

hit (my second longest ever)
