Newspapers & articles for first euro year
I think it's time we start emailing newspapers about eurobilltracker again. I expect they're starting to make plans about articles for the first anniversary...
Now that the site is back on line, we can discuss this thread. It seems a great idea. Anyone with good idea's???
I have one:
We send out a press-release (by snailmail) about what a succes the site is, how many bills we tracked so far, about the huge amount of information about the Euro and Europe in the forum. This should be send out before 20 december.
In the presskit we should also put some screenshots from the inside of EBT. Like pe Complete list-Notes (when there is heavy input), a screenshot of the diffusion, a screenshot of the stats....
And to finish it off, in the envelop (between the pages) we should place some x-mas-decoration like a glittering festoon cut up, so when the reader is gonna open the envelop his desk will be full of glittering stuff and he remembers it all day....
Ciao,
Mr Euro

EURO BILL TRACKER REACHES 50,000 REGISTERED BILLS IN 15 WEEKS TIME
Paris, France (April 12, 2002) - Eurobilltracker, the top euro bill tracking
site has announced that it is now tracking a total of over 50,000 euro bills,
registered on the site by users from over 20 different countries, mainly from
the euro zone.
"Although the top contributing countries (Belgium, Holland, France, Germany
and Finland) account for most of the notes entered, word has started spreading
to other countries such as Ireland and Portugal and we look forward to
welcoming users from all over the world" says website creator Philippe
Girolami.
The idea behind of the website is very simple : see how the new bills travel
around the world and give users a chance to find out where their bills have
been and where they go. A more scientific aspect of the site is the diffusion
section where monthly charts show how the proportion of foreign bills
increases with time in each country. In order for this to happen, users enter
information about bills they possess (value, serial number) and indicate where
they got each bill. If the bill is already in the database, then
previous users that have entered that same bill are notified via
email.
The success of the site in so many European countries is probably due to the
fact that the site was designed to be multilingual from the start. The site is
available in all euro-zone languages thanks to an army of translators who give
their time and assistance to the site.

Too bad, nobody bothered to get some conversation going there
