W-EBTM Murcia 2018 General Information

As many of you might already know, the next EBT-meeting is going to be held in Murcia. We've already fixed the dates: it will take place during 24th-25th February.

I'll be adding more information to this thread in the following days, so stay tunned.

Anyway, feel free to ask me whatever you'd like to know concerning about the meeting or the city itself.

Let's talk a little bit about about EBT-ing in Murcia.

The city itself isn't pretty big, but it has a ridiculous number (54!!) of pedanías. That is, somekind of districts with its own little mayor, its local fests, and its own city profile on EBT. Wonderfull, isn't it?

Unfortunatelly, ours is not a perfect World -and has never been- so, some of our pedanías are clearly separated from the city itself, but some others are not.

Well, it gets a little bit more complicated when talking about postal codes. Sometimes, several pedanías share a single postal code. That's great. Sometimes, there are two postal codes withing a single pedanía. Fine. But most of the time, both things come true, leading to several shared post codes applying to a single pedanía.

But please, do not panic! I repeat, do not panic. Only a few of these pedanías are stuck to the city. On the other hand, Google maps will always give you the right postcode. And, in case you need it, here is a usefull web tool to identify if your notes are from Murcia, Santiago y Zaraíche, El Puntal or Puente Tocinos.

The date is approaching fast, so let's summarize a little bit what I've been planning.

For the early arrivals, we will have dinner at D'Lola. It's not a fancy place, but the food is great and usually cheap. Moreover, the owners are my aunt and uncle so it was almost an obligated visit. There are at least two ATMs 2-3 minutes walking from the bar (Murcia 30.007). Meeting point could be in front of the tram-stop "Marina Española". I'll be next to the Banco Sabadel ATM, just at the end of the zebra crossing. Dinner time here in Spain is around 21:00, so we could meet at 20:30.

Saturday morning we could meet beside Alfonso X statue arround 09:30. There are a few nice places to have breackfast nearby if you'd like. From there, I'm planning to take you to the Royal Casino. Visit with audioguides cost 5€/persone. Or just 3€ if we are 10 or more people. I've tried to book a city tour but booking is not possible. Anyway, the tour start at 12:00 from the tourism office in front of the Cathedral, last almost two hours and cost 7€/person. Lunch time in Spain is 14:00, but the prize includes a pastel de carne tasting. That was another obligated thing to do in your visit. I still have to book the restaurant, but do not panic, we are on time.

Small question:
I'm planning to do a little travel around.
But I notice this dot. Do you know if it's possible to track this dot? I doubt if "La Vila Joiosa (03570)" will be plotted in this dot, or in the dot to the left.

I've checked (with Google Maps) and the area to the east of the city belongs all to "La Vila Joiosa (03570)".
If this combination is plotted in the left dot, that would mean this dot is "untrackable" .

Yes, it is trackable, and correctly so. (In fact, about a hundred notes have already been registered on that dot.)

I'm planning to preorder that rice with rabbit for Sunday lunch. How many of you will be having lunch with us on Sunday? Preordering is extremely advisable, and it would be interesting to know the number of guests.

By the way, I've already booked Saturday's dinner in Restaurante El Patio (Santiago y Zaraíche 30.007). There are two ATM's very close. Meeting point would be Abenarabi Tram Stop arround 20:30.
