I recall seeing a car from Essen with the E - BT combination when being on holidays in West Flanders in 2014 . However, this is the only tme I have seen such a combintion .

Should I take some and from the 1st series, or is it just a bad idea because they will most certainly be destroyed before some EBTor find them?

I would not place 1st series in Germany. I think they will be destroyed very fast
