Why do you think that's strange? When the Flemish TV sends a candidate they always give the points in English. That's our right, isn't it?Ernst wrote:I thought it was very strange that your TV presenter talked in English, yes I saw that it was TV1, but after all French is one of your national languages.
are you gonna watch the eurovision songcontest

Well, at least this perversion is not a dangerous one, we're unlikely to hurt anybody. Except I probably damaged my neighbours' ears
. One of them rang my doorbell in the middle of the night, asking me to turn down the volume because they couldn't sleep in that noise. The funny thing was that I had fallen asleep in the front of my tv, the loudspeakers blasting the music. Hah, it didn't disturb my sleep at all!

I wish they'd go back to the rule of only singing in national languages. Understanding the words when they sing in English takes away 90% of the fun
Ahora España. ¡Olé que arte!
Sorry, I really do love this shit.

The Eurovision Songcontest once was a nice idea: Every country made a contibution in their native language and the songs were compared by a professional jury from each of the countries. Sadly the quality of the songs was hardly ever high.
The ESC was completely ruined by televoting (a commercial activity) and the possibility to perform each song in english (spoken in only 2 European countries)...
Nice item in the Dutch radionews: The Dutch gave most votes to Turkey... Well, my dear newsman... The voters mentioned are not even remotely dutch... but Turkish, of course... now how can I watch a competition in which public juries vote for themselves?

Niet meer zo fanatiek als ooit maar is nu al voor het 8ste jaar aan het invoeren... Overigens is een klein deel van mijn biljetten gestempeld met de ebt url

I didn't watch and I am glad I did it. Like Fonzie says, the original idea was quite nice, but it has been turned into a political game in which especially eastern European countries are quite good. Good singers are now beaten by the most unbelievable crap! I would advise the Dutch organisation who sends a singer to this contest to do the same as Italy: QUIT!

We watched the ESC with some friends together, I don't take this event so serious and do not want the old jury-times back, just a big show all over europe and very entertaining at all
My favourite song was Switzerland (Vanilla Ninja) followed by Croatia (??? feat. Lado). The worst was Bosnia I guess with a really

Was the german song really so bad? Last place with only 4 points from the MoMo-connection (Monaco and Moldavia)

I love the Greek song, really really nice. Only the singer was a bit arrogant, but you probably need that in that world.
