70 degrees last week, 21 degrees this week. Still feels exactly the same.

(This was a poor play involving some ideas of Fahrenheit and Celsius.)

The Americans still use the Fahrenheit?
Canadians use the Celsius... but also the feet, inches...

The metric system is half used here. It's totally weird!

I think so.
When I watch a movie or something they (the actors) always say temperatures in Farenheit (when it's an American movie)

Yes. And ounces (28g) and pounds (453g) and gallons (3.78l) and quarts (1/4 gallon) and inches (2.54cm) and feet (12 inches) and yards (3 feet) and miles (1.6km), and sometimes the density of materials is not given in kg per cubic meter but rather in ounces per cubic inch. I forgot the conversion factor.

I don't try to understand the imperial system... I won't stay long enough. It does not worth it.

Weather

Post by BogPoet »

According to the weather channel, it's 66º F both in Lisboa and Faro (the largest city near my hometown of Loulé). I believe that's about 19º C...

Now where's that formula? I had it here somewhere... ;)

Formula is

degrees Celsius x 1,8 + 32 = degrees Farenheit

19 x 1,8 + 32 = 66,2

Yep. Although I learned that 1,8 as 9/5, because then it's easier to remember the reverse formula

C = F - 32 * 5/9

(of course this could also be C = (F - 32) / 1,8, which is also quite easy to remember... which means i just teared my whole reasoning down ;) )

Next week I'm going to Prague with my classmates.
It's a trip organised by our school, so we're obligated to go there. :p
But I think it's going to be nice, and I hope the weather also is...
