Perl scripts for generating rankings

Post by Nivram »

For all of you who are responsible for an EBT-ranking - there are a lot in the German forum at least - this might be of interest:

I wrote two (similar) Perl scripts for generating rankings:

One is for User rankings.
The other for City rankings.

Remark:
* They DON'T fetch any information from the internet, instead they will ASK YOU for the data and YOU will have to provide it. (They remember the data the next time you use the scripts though.)
They just save you the time of typing all the numbers in your calculator.

If you want, you can try them (should be easy under Linux) and tell me what you think of them.

cheers

I tried under Windows XP but got the error that module Date/Calc.pm was missing. I will try to install that later. I am running Active Perl 5.8.7 build 813.

Is there anything like this for Windows? (Or can I run this Linux script in Windows with some special software?)

You should be able to run the script under windows, too. It's written in Perl, so all you've got to do is install perl. (I haven't done it for i while, but perhaps someone else can suggest you a download page.)

Sorry, the Anonymous was me.

Even before reading your answer, I thought of downloading perl from perl.com or something like that, but it's like a kazillion megabytes... :(

The link for the City rankings perl script doesn't work
The Shortcodes List/Bilan des Codes-courts recensés - website on stand-by
User Control Panel>Board preferences>Edit global settings>(1) Sélectionnez le thème "Subsilver2" pour avoir une apparence ressemblant à l'ancien forum (2) Forum en français désormais possible!

Oh yes. Our admin disactivated the possibility of linking to common files due to security reasons. Sorry for that...

But you can PM me, if you are interested.
