That's true. Wages in my field are maybe half compared to Finnish level. But on the other hand, prices are also lower - apart from the imported products. For example, a can of Hungarian beer (0.5 l) costs less than 50 c in Hungary but the price in Finland is more than triple. On the other hand, petrol is almost as expensive as in Finland - the funny thing is Hungarians use to pop in Austria to fill the tanks of their cars as it's cheaper there.querty wrote:And I think the wages are also lower in Hungary than in Finland, isn't it?

Yes, but also the living is cheaper. And especially when Hungary is joining the EU, buying a house from there is very advicable. The prizes are now quite low, but when the country joins the EU and its economy gets a big boost, the wages go up. And then you've got a house you've paid almost nothing for and a job that pays you well :)querty wrote:And I think the wages are also lower in Hungary than in Finland, isn't it?
In fact that sounds like a good idea. Guess I'll go buy a house from Estonia next monday. I can probably get good profit from it :D
Ko saka āboliņš? Pēk pēk pēk!
First of all, there are also other countries which are going to join EU at the same time. What comes to the estate price development, Poland and Czech Republic have a better location. Concerning Hungary, the price level in the western part of the country has risen but the east part is quite poor. I guess prices will go up everywhere but not rapidly and dramatically.Dakkus wrote:Yes, but also the living is cheaper. If you're going to buy a flat or house in Estonia, remember to make sure the person who is selling it really owns it...

If I had to leave Portugal, I would like to live in the United Kingdom or in Australia
