Not since the play back allowed,languages are gone and the philarmonic left.Before that it was quite good.

Can anyone explain me why Germany participates this year? We were last in 2005 and I thought the last one is always excluded from participation next year?

That system was considered pointless and was changed.

Even with the old system, the 4 countries D,F,E and UK could not fall out, because they are paying the most money. This was made after the German song of 1996 fell out in a pre-choice because the jury did not like the song. Later, the participants were decided by the rank of the last year's contest. Now all countries can at least go to the "semi-final". (D,F,E,UK still go directly to the final)
