I have no idea on why he is crying. Maybe Manchester City got relegated that year. Or maybe had they just lost a cup game.

You're right, it was City... I've found this on the net just by the side of his photo crying...
Despite the remarkable skills of Kinkladze, City were relegated to the Nationwide 1st Division and many were afraid that he would be tempted away from City. That wasn't the case however, Gio pledged to stay at Maine Road for at least one more season.

Wow! I haven't checked this topic for a while, and then I see God's own team mentioned in the top post of the current page.... and then a few pages back.... God himself.... GIO!

In the picture currently posted, however, he's not crying, but I'm sure I remember which picture you mean.... and the answer is that City were relegated for the second time in 3 seasons! Even with possibly our most talented individual played ever in the team (GIO!!) we were relegated to the Nationwide 2nd division (the third level of English football).... and Gio did indeed leave us.....
