2006 Coins
I have seen recently many Finnish €2 coins from 2006. They seem to be quite common.
I wonder if they have originally underestimated the need of €2 coins and overestimated the need of the smaller coins. The smaller coins which are newer than 2002 seem to be quite rare.

I've been wondering the same thing. Where do all those two euro coins end up?
This link shows the amount of minted coins in Finland. (in millions, "yhteensä" means "total") 2€, 1€, 2c and 1c are the only ones which have been minted in large numbers since the introduction (the year 2002 also includes the year 1998, if I recall correctly). For the cents the reason is obvious: demand from collectors.
Perhaps there are just several people here who like to take the money they're going to spend abroad in coins.

these numbers are slightly different to the numbers here
http://www.euro-auflagen.de/
although they refer to the table in your link
(no, they have the same numbers, they only subtracted the coin sets)

Joshu, a Chinese Zen master, asked a cow:
"Do you have Buddha-nature or not?"
The cow answered: "Moo."

This is interesting.androl wrote:these numbers are slightly different to the numbers here

Does '---' mean that those coins have not been minted at all? In that case it is impossible to collect the full set of for example Belgian coins from certain years.
