By the way - if the other kingdoms accept euro too, I really wish they won't put their kings or queens to the coins! It is really annoying

I'm sure the queen Elizabeth will be on the 1 € and 2 € coins (as it is in Spain)... maybe something else on the cents... the symbol of each part of the kingdom (rose for England, "chardon" for Scotland, "Poireau" for Wales and "trefle" for Nothern Ireland?)

That's true! But maybe these feelings occur only inside the eurozone and don't affect the countries who want to join. I hope the new joiners will do what France did: freeze the prices.

It affects the oil price. And the price of American books which computer science students have to buy

We should really make an official proposal to the new euro countries not to follow the Belgian way

Or better: New members of the eurozone will only be accepted if the majority of the residents of the current eurozone likes their coin design

Yeah wel all know the Belgian coins suck, just wait a few year till the old guy dies, and then (hopefully) they'll change the design...
And PLEASE GOD don't let them put Prince Philip on them !!!
Instead put real monuments... like the atomium, Antwerp kathedral, Something from Bruges, dunno, WHATEVER !
But NO STUPID KING !

aargh :p
(did I made my point clear ? :D)

Well, I think the Spanish coins are not that bad...
1) They are not all the same
2) Their king is much cooler than ours :)
3) 1 or 2 coins with a king isn't that bad, but EVERYONE? and then.. everyone the SAME ?
That's what makes the Duthc coins a little better than the Belgian ones... there is also their queen on every coin, but still in a different way.

Then Ireland has also the same pattern on every coin, but tha harp is way cooler than a king :) I like them :)
But the best coins are the Finnish 2eur, the German 2eur (I really like the design of that eagle).
Then I think I'll like the Greek 1eur aswell, but I didn't see it yet in real.

If the King/Queen is on just one or two coins I think it's OK. There seems to be a weird public need in monarchies to depict their leaders. I think I'll tolerate that :D
