Euros from "The New World"
Well, after almost a year of waiting, I recently received my first hit on EBT!!!
I live in Barrie, a city north of Toronto, in Canada. I had been purchasing Euros from our local banks in anticipation of a trip to Europe that never happened. I exchanged those Euros at the bank in August.
On October 3rd, I came home to find an e-mail from EBT waiting for me. I got a hit!! My 20 Euro note was found and entered by uzzygirl in Basil, Switzerland. Take a look here --> http://www.eurobilltracker.eu/index.php ... 2a66ecc3b2
There are a couple of strange coincidences about this hit besides the fact that I have never been to Europe:
1. The bill was originally printed in Ireland ... I was planning to visit an friend Ireland (a little weird)
2. The friend that lives in Ireland ... used to live in Basil, Switzerland (a little MORE weird!!!!)
Well, I am very pleased to have received a hit on a Euro. And, I am happy that it is an "interesting hit" for EBT members.
If you have some time, check out my personal pages. I have been a long-time user of Wheres Willy and Wheres George, and have been keeping personal statistics. I am really pleased that I can add EBT statistics to that list!

While you are at my site, please sign my guest map. I created a new one today that shows the entire world (my old one only showed North America).
Thanks, uzzygirl and EBT! Have a great day, everyone!!!

Thanks for the good wishes, esperantisto!
Are you a Where's George user as well?
I will give you a tip on how to get hits. I and several other Where's Willy users have discovered this over the last year or so.
When you really want a hit on something, post a note in the forum like "I wish I had a hit in Timbuktu", or "Why don't I ever git hits in Upper Armpit??".
I swear to you, this works. Within a few weeks (maybe a month), you will get what you are seeking.
Give it a try ... it can't hurt, can it??

I have an idea! Why don't you mail me some of your euro notes? When I get them, I will enter them and you will record a hit. I live in Ohio. Then, I can return to you via post the exact amount of what you sent me, but of the bills I have at home. You can enter them and I will register a hit.EuroBillTracker wrote:I want a hit

I have Italian and German bills, which you might not have, and you can send me French bills which I don't have. Which of course will help increase the diffusion.
Is this a good idea?
This is a good idea, but those hits will not be seen as 'interesting' here on EBT... I'm sorry...
There have been many people before who has tried this and it gave spectacular hits but most of them have been moderated.
Tip: if you're going to try this, write in the comment of the bill how this hit have been made. Then you've a chance that the hit will remain in the interesting hit-list, because in that case everybody can see that it's not a normal hit.

It's cheating if you live in the eurozone. But, for those of us outside who can't play the game the way the euro-users can need a "handicap".Olivier wrote:It's just cheating !John S wrote:I have an idea! Come on, show some initiative! If I were you, I'd attack the pensioners leaving the States for Europe. You know those trips where you "do" Europe in 10 days, spending minimum time in each country and covering huge distances. I know the travellers are likely to use credit cards, but I'm sure you could convince them to exchange and spend some of your euros.
