No, i use EBT-tool and NIG together. EBT-tool is much faster; NIG takes 11 minutes, but than i have over 200.000 banknotes.

P.S. Surely you do not have both things in the same directory.

Excel & EBT-Tool  guarantee void (well, if there was one ;))! Both of these programs change the format of the CSV files.

Yes, umlauts are a problem with EBT-tool, that for a german product. Every ü is A1/4. I could list all those cities, but you know.

I'm aware of the problem and too lazy to download the same file twice...

Not sure what you're talking about, but umlauts aren't causing any problems. The problem is that Delphi 7 (the language the tool is written in) doesn't really support Unicode (there are issues with backwards compatibility), so I chose to take the easy route and rather convert the downloaded CSV to Latin1/Win1252 than convert the whole program (panels, tree components, etc) to Unicode. This also implies that at the moment the EBT-Tool is no longer fully compatible with the CSV downloaded directly from EBT, and only supports a subset of the characters supported on the website nowadays (e.g. no native support for Arab chars on a european computer).

This also means that the CSV file downloaded by the EBT-Tool can't be used in NIG. This aspect will change once I get home from the current dothuntingtour and the meeting.

Well, that's all?

hmmm...ok, than I agree with magpie and look at my monthly statistics with the tool, as long as I can generate the complete statistic with NIG except for some "umlauts" there's no need to block harddisk space twice with the same data.

Sorry for your inconvenience, I don't mean to bother you...

With EBT-tool i can't copy any information, but umlautcities aren't readable. They look awful.

You don´t need to download twice.
Just
haemoglobin wrote:use the original csv from the ebt-site for NIG, not the csv downloaded by the ebt-tool
and you may use it for both NIG and EBT
That´s what I do, I download to my NIG directory, and when using EBT, I click on the "Local CSV" button, which is configurated to the mentioned NIG directory.
It works for me

Ok, I tried that, buuutttt...

that only solved the "umlaut"-problem, when I try to create a statistic from "selected notes only" I still get...

Hi
with the old NIG I saw this:

but with the new NIG I can´t see that statistic, I only see the notes by month, but not the picture.

The same with the years
