EBT Police
Oh, come on, I understand you being angry with fakers in general (and maybe with this Zorro guy -- I haven't scrutinized his serial numbers, but I believe you).
But I wouldn't want to be banned for entering ONE wrong bill number! In fact, if I remember well, I did it once, swapping 2 digits by mistake, emailed the Big Bosses and they kindly corrected it.

And you think draconian punishments are good? This proposal fits into a time where you can get a life sentence for being convicted three times for shoplifting (in certain regions), but I strongly believe this is not an appropriate policy for EBT.Aaron wrote:I think a special rule concerning fakers should be legislated.
If you get caught for entering just ONE fake note the whole note account will be erased.
If someone enters sequental notes he/she must be ready to give an explanation.
I agree that user __/-^-\__ must be blocked AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. The moderators really have to start to do something against this.
Have you considered how hard it is to detect a single fake note, and that it is practically impossible to check whether a given person owned a note with a given serial? If you keep strictly to the rules, there is right here in the forum a documented fake entry (giving an incorrect place where the user got the note), made also by a supporter of low-tolerance policies. Few consecutive serialists do not justify even the idea of such measures under any circumstances.
I have a clear conscience. But once again, I have to call to your reason and ask for adequate (instead of exaggerated) and feasible suggestions.
To Gauss and lmviterbo:
I think Aaron means here that only the fake NOTE should be removed,
and NOT that the user should be banned for entering only one fake note!
Of course I don't favour the zero-tolerance policy! But sometimes, as in
the case of _/^-^\_, it is very obvious that he enters mostly fake notes!
In that case I think he should be banned!

Am I going totally bonkers? I thought I saw a total of 4 hits between these two guys earlier today. Now the other ones have been deleted and only this seems to be left. Why leave one? Or have I imagined the whole thing?

And just picked these three from the list as well - probably unintentional hits, but maybe not worth keeping on the list of interesting ones (reasoning: too small a distance both geographically and temporally, and besides they just happen to happen too often between the very same users).

No, they are indeed all real or all fake. Same situation with three of my hits some time ago, they're all real(!), two are moderated.Annie_in_exile wrote:Nothing per se, but if there are three others between the very same users, only a few minutes apart, I can't see why one would be real and all the others fake. Or do you disagree?
I like your logic. In fact (if I'm allowed to make this personal statement), have you noticed that we have a similar joining date, a similar posting frequency and a similar preference for topics where logic is involved?Annie_in_exile wrote:Nothing per se, but if there are three others between the very same users, only a few minutes apart, I can't see why one would be real and all the others fake. Logic? What logic? My messages have absolutely nothing to do with logic

In fact deleting the fake notes is quite important. There's no reason the keep them in the database as they produce fake hits. Why should fake notes be kept in the database? At least they could be quarantined from the database. That way they could be gotten back, if the note wasn't fake, after all. Anyway, delete fake notes. I preferred the first version of this post. No need to feel flattered; I'd rather start learning artificial languages. The link between the previous two sentences can be detected with your sense of logic.Annie_in_exile wrote:Flattery will get you nowhere, dear.Gauss wrote:I like your logic. Has this http://www.eurobilltracker.eu/index.php ... id=1303390 been reported yet? A little too much luck for Henrik and HBrotherus considering their dates of registrations.. Is it even only one person?

So, you saw the first version last night. I thought you had gone already. Anyway, I don't think these insinuations belong under this subject (which happens to be the most popular on the whole forum) but if you want to hurl abuse or send love letters, you know where to find me.Gauss wrote:I preferred the first version of this post.
