Each city profile now lists all the locations which contribute significantly to it, if there are several. Example.

I thinks This city profile subsumes primarily the following locations is a nice option in the city profiles. But I would like to say something about the translation in dutch.

Dit gemeenteprofiel bevat hoofdzakelijk volgende locaties

Translated : This municipality profile subsumes primarily the following locations

There isn't any translation in french, finnish or italian of that sentence 8O
but German and German uses the term city

I don't know if this is the good place to make such a comment - but a municipality is something different than a city.

In fact, I always talk about locations (could be city or village) in stead of city (many of my 500+ locations don't have city rights or are - tiny - villages)

Generally speaking, most translation issues should be handled at the national forum (Dutch in your case).

I also noticed that the 'central name' of a city profile is used in the language of you settings.

In Dutch the Brussels-cityprofile says "Brussel" on top, in the German language settings there is Brüssel. Bruxelles for French and so on. :)

This is true only for nine very large cities in the Eurozone which have multiple substantially different names in several languages.

Still working on it, Paris is still like 'Paris' in each language :)

But I was thinking: is it just a coincedence that Paris has city-profile-code 75000, which is also the zipcode?? Or was it just one of the possibilities?

Please re-organize Hirschhorn :flag-de:

Please rename the city with ID 40305 from Hirschhorn (neckar) to Hirschhorn (Neckar) and assign

the locations
  • Hirschhorn (), Germany
    Hirschhorn (69412), Germany
    Hirschhorn (69434), Germany
from city with ID 40304 to the city withID 40305
and merge the cities with IDs 40307, 40310, 40312, 40314 with city 40305

Please rename the city with ID 40315 from Hirschhorn/pfalz to Hirschhorn/Pfalz and assign

the locations
  • Hirschhorn (677), Germany
    Hirschhorn (67732), Germany
from the city with ID 40304 to the city with ID 40315
and merge merge the cities with IDs 40306, 40308, 40309, 40311, 40313 with the city with ID 40315.

If you do so there is one location left belonging to the city with ID 40304. This location is actually part of Wummansquick. It seems that all parts of Wummansquick are treated separately. So maybe you don't want to merge the city with ID 40304 with Wummansquick.

The profiles Brüssel and Bxl should also be included in the profile of Brussel/Brussels/Bruxelles

And many more. I seen Brussels written in even more different ways (typo's?) too.
And some ppl type fi 1080 BXL, while others type 1080 Anderlecht.
What to do about that? Normally Brussels has postal code 1000. But a lot of ppl see the whole district as Brussels.

That is the problem with lots of big cities/major cities.
I also seen 3500 Hasselt and 3511 Hasselt fi.
3511 is Kuringen. That's a part of 3510 Kermt. And Kermt is a part of 3500 Hasselt.

It's almost impossible to solve this problem.

In the profile http://www.eurobilltracker.eu/profile/?city=117689 I can see "Łódź" twice under "Dit profiel bevat hoofdzakelijk volgende locaties:" - why?

The problem might not be impossible but is really difficult (at least for Brussels).
For most of the places the city is considered to be the basic entitity. So in what conserns city statistics, Kuringen and Kermt should be included in Hasselt.

The case of Brussels is more complicated as the region Brussels includes 19 communes of which one is named Brussels-City.
Our administrators have to make the "political" desicion of which entity is the basic one in this case. Is it the internationally known Brussels (in reality the region) which is the basic one. In that case all the communes (Schaerbeek, Ixelles, Brussels-city...) should be sub-entities and joined to the profil of Brussels. The other option would be to consider the communes to be the basic entities. In that case all the notes which are registered with the different versions of Brussels as location should be allocated to the different communes according to their postal code.
Luckily the boarders of postal-code areas at most times follows the boarders of communes.
