Influx of Italian notes in my hometown

Post by Asiamaniac »

Hi community, I really like the increasing international atmosphere in Euro-Zone. Be it here or in real life, when holding Euro notes from abroad in my hands.

Recently, since two or three weeks, I have found that in my hometown Wiesbaden / Central Germany, there is a strongly increased number of Italian notes, be it from the ATM or from normal circulation. I cannot say that there are reports about a higher number of Italian visitors to Wiesbaden, and the tourist season is long over. But I like it, although, in the sake of interesting long-distance-hits, I would prefer an increased number of Dutch, Belgian or Finnish notes ;-)

How is it in your places? Do you also see a sudden higher number of foreign notes and where are they from mostly?

Enjoy your tracking, Jürgen / Asiamaniac

Ah, these must be pooling notes: a certain company prints bills from a
certain country, but are put into circulation in another country. For
example, in Belgium there are many Spanish €20 notes, and in Finland
there are €20 from Holland printed by P (Germany!). And there are many
more examples.

True, the notes are 20ies. Their printing codes, however, do not give a hint to the German printer. Anyway, very interesting what is all behind the Euro!
