Hi trackers,
looking at the EBT note diffusion stats I´ve been wondering...
While most countries (with a conciderable number of notes entered per month) show a certain pattern of note origins (majority from own country, 2-3 smaller % from neighbours, the rest of countries around 1%), there is 1 country making a exception: Belgium.
The note diffusion in Belgium is so equal between countries, its amazing. They usually have 8% finnish, 9% portuguese, 7% irish ect.
Its not only this month - I observed this for a while now.
Does anybody have a idea why this is so?

Belgium is a small country, a lot of people cross belgium going from 1 country to another.
There are a lot of international organisations in Brussels like the european union, brussels is one of the cities with the most embassies. A lot of organisations have an important division in brussels like Medicins sans frontiers.
The Antwerp harbor attracts a lot of foreign compagnies.

As it's plain to see, we've been having those pooling recently in Portugal too. They're replacing the French ones. Nothing against it...Beatminister wrote:You get finnish 5€ notes in Belgium? You lucky b....

Yea, that sound like a european system alright - transporting finnish 5ers to Portugal, spanish 5ers to Germany...
Well, if the Fins take over the 5er production from France, we may get some here, too. We have loads of french (and spanish) 5ers at present.
At the moment finnish notes are like gold dust here.
