Once, I was at the entrance of an event and a women paid 3 euro with a 200 eurobyrnefm wrote:What do people use the €200 and €500s for? I think I may have seen a €100 being handed out at a post office but am not sure. I don't think the local supermarket would appreciate me buying a carton of milk and handing in a €200, unless (s)he's a EBT

My money comes mostly from ATM and friends and so on.
But I also try to get to handle money as often as possible. When there are some meetings and the moneys are "balanced" (so that those coming from 2km away pay a bit of the cost of the 500km trip of others), I always gather and share the money. And write all serials to a paper and later enter the info to EBT :)
BTW, if you want lots of serials, you don't have to /rob/ a bank. Just walk to a bank with a gun. Then say "Bring all of your money and a computer with internet connection here!". Then you'll start entering the codes. When you're ready, you apologize for the inconvenience and go back home ;)

It's easy to say where I get my money from: it's my own bank account, and the recent withdrawals are really starting to show there
I've been spending quite a lot cash during the past months; all sorts of unexpected expenses
Why can't I just pass a nice pair of shoes without buying them? A couple of weeks ago my car broke down and I'll have to fetch it tomorrow. I just hope I'll be able to resist the urge to pay in 5- or 10-euro-notes.
Oh yes, one tip for collecting plenty of notes: we often go out for a dinner with some friends, 4 to 6 or even more. When the bill comes, everybody pays with their smaller notes and I usually collect and count them, then exchange them for one or two larger ones. And please don't moralise and say that the restaurant owner would appreciate the smaller notes.
Every now and then I also take care of my father's paperwork - he is rather elderly and the modern banking systems confuse him. So he handles me a bundle of bills which need to be paid, I use the direct banking system from my computer and get a nice wad of cash from my father. Register the notes and go shopping... (obviously, part of the notes should go to the bank and into my account in order to avoid personal bankruptcy. )
