Quick response (don't have much time): Got the e-mail confirmation, clicked the link, saw the current results. :) Seems they are just pretty busy ...

why can only the ones win the price who vote for the winning design? Now all will vote for 2 or 5 just to be able to win the price

That's because you shouldn't know in advance who is winning.
Probably they don't expect people to gather and discuss about this thing as if it were relevant - but, well, here we are. :D
Anyway I guess the majority of voters still don't know the results in advance.

... and even worse (or maybe not  ), most people won't even know about this design vote at all. Guess that, among the Europeans who have voted so far, the number of those who did it because they heard about the competition ov TV/radio, or read about it in the newspaper (or web sites that are not focused on coins and currency), is in the low one-digit range. That may still change in the next three weeks, of course ...

Repubblica.it (which is the main Italian online newscast) really surprised me by publishing a whole article (Italian only, sorry ;)) about the website. I only managed to calm down when I saw that they had given the URL of the English page and had put on their own website the 5 designs with explanations in English and no translation. ;)

Here the Italian user AnnoviFrizio has published some brand new sketches of him for the commemorative 2€ coin.
I especially like the idea (though not the final result) of this coin, where the euro sign expands and forms a shape that resembles a parliament.
