I hope Paris or Madrid, because they can strike commemorative euros, like
the Greeks do this year! :D

I voted New York

Because that way the chances for Belgium to organise them in 2016 keep safe,
they never do it twice after each other on the same continent.

With that rule, New York won't win for 2012 because of Vancouver 2010. :P

Our Flemish Minister President

has a dream of having the Olympic Games in Flanders for 2016
Which is impossible because it has to be a city

Now Brussels is also interested,

In my opinion it would be nice to have them in 2020, then it has been exactly 100 years since Antwerp in 1920.

Why oh why?? Please, not Belgium. Who'll pay for all infrastructure? Belgium is too small and crowded. I find it a very stupid and useless idea. Only a very few people will benefit, all others will pay.

Moreover, it would be a real disgrace to have to Olympics in a country that wins no medals :?

bhoeyb: In Portugal, we have ten (10!) stadiums for Euro2004, many of which were built anew, others were remodelled. It cost a lot of public money, which we could use right now. Now, that they're built, I actually like them but I still understand you.

Jules: We've never won the Euro, too (best was 3rd in France84 and Belgium/Netherlands2000). That didn't stop us...

I hope it will be Paris in 2012 and Flanders/Brussels in 2020. Having the European Football Championship in 2000 in our country was great, so why not the Olympics?
I don't mind paying for that, although I admit it's a bit ridiculous to create sporting fields that won't be used afterwards, and a stadium for 80000 people while our biggest stadium now (50000) is almost never sold out...

Why should I really care where it's being held? Well, it's nice if there's not too much time difference, but then again, I'm in touch with people in the USA all the time and it's not too much of an obstacle. Anyway, I'll catch anything I want to see on TV.
