P-serial Notes are printed for the Netherlands but U-shortcode Notes are printed in Protugal. This combination does not exist as far as I know. Maybe you are talking of U/M notes - they do exist. And if my information is correct Portugal has been ordered to print some 20eur notes which then are spread over Europe. This is called pooling.

Hi gabho! The fact is the following, eurocountries share the global production of notes.
For this reason a country "sell" their notes to another.
For 2008 regarding
the ECB website says DE, ES, FR, PT will be the producers so actually 90% of your notes will be according to these standard.
In Italy we are full of
DE, in SK it seems you also have "bought" the PT together with the DE notes.
In Italy we are crowded of
N/Y from Greece while in Spain they are crowded of DE notes and so on...
For instance, generally:
you should find easily R/X or P/X, it will be very rare to you to find T/Z or P/Y or N/Y or J/S as they were no more printed since 2002!
most of your notes will be R/X, P/X, F/N, L/U, N/Y or G/P and it will be rare to find T/Z M/V J/S D/L since the are not produced any more since 2002
On the other hand for
you will have a lots of J/S M/V P/X R/X T/Z and very rare K/T N/Y H/M....
If you'd like to know all the possible existing combination I can suggest you to download the NIG software to recreate all your statistics here and to check ECB website with all the production year by year here.
