Live in another country...

Post by Olivier »

Hello!

Have you ever thought about living in another country? I wonder what country you would choose! :)

If you feel well in your own country, and don't only consider to move one day, imagine that you are obliged to move (flood, war, atomic chaos, prohibition on red wine :P ) ...

You already know my choice (Québec) . :)

I live well in Italy, but if I had to move I'd choose among three options:
Ireland
Germany
Finland

Ehr... Olivier... it wasn't necessary to involve atomic chaos :)
but the prohibition of red wine is funny

Toscane, but I'm not sure if I could actually work there (too hot & too good)... so maybe once I retire.
Time is on our side ...

There are many places I like. South East Asia: Bali or Singapore. Or Canada or USA. But the immigration procedure would be annoying I think. I lived in Berlin for a couple of years, the next real option for me would be London since we are free to move in the EU. But it would be more fun to live there if they had the euro. :)

Yes :)
But I won't say anything

Can't live without red wine! :P Viva il chianti ! ;OD

It reminds me of a funny discussion I had with some friends in Quebec, when during the referendum on independance... One of them told me she liked to remain in Canada, but if the french cheese would have to be forbiden (because of the "lait cru" and pbs of listeria), "it would be the war"! :D
Cheese is a good reason to make war!

You can confess it's just because it's hard to get coins from Ireland and Finland! :P

I thought many times to move to another country.. and I hope some day I'll do it.

don't take me wrong I love living in Portugal, but I think it would be a tremounds experience to live sometime outside..

there are many countries that fascinate me, from Japan to New Zealand.. but the most realist options are:

1-Germany
2-Brazil
3-Angola
4-Italy
5-Scandinavia (sorry, don't know wich to choose)

not exactly in this order...

yes, and it's a lovely country, my father was born there. and since there are many portuguese companies there it wouldn't be too difficult to find a job there for me  :D ...

people always think that Angola is just war, but let me remind you that in more than 30 years of war only one time the war got closed to Luanda, the capital city.. any way, some weeks ago Angola celebrated the first 100 consecutive days of peace in 3 decades! :P

I'm sure I'm going to live there some time, some day..

maybe just after finishing my studies...

and my father always told me that the weather and the beachs have no comparision elsewhere
