It's clear that the vast majority of users choose the first option, but that doesn't mean that the second option is considered location faking.

Let's say it this way: As long as it are 'normal' locations like home or work, it's not a big problem.TARAPIATAPIOCA wrote:or from Munich to Bibione,or from berlin to Rome...presidente wrote:I hope you are joking...so for you take 200googlejaps wrote:

Re: Suspicious notes and users
In my opinion it's a big problem.
Rules says that notes must be entered from the place notes are obtained.
If I obtain a note in Paris and I insert it from Oslo, I create a wrong stat when someone will find my note.
Considering the final goal of EBT is to create stats about the monetary circulation, I think to false the stats is a very important matter. It's against the spirit and the goals of EBT.

Re: Suspicious notes and users
Retorical question: If you come back from a trip, and you don't remember where you received one of the notes you got. Would you not enter the note, or enter it in your home town?

Better not argue with those obstinate Italians , they have their own rules and think hits made in Italy are sleazy if not made by Italians , hitting on their turf is an offense to them , we are not welcome theregooglejaps wrote:Retorical question: If you come back from a trip, and you don't remember where you received one of the notes you got. We don't have your own rules. You don't know the rules. Pretend not to understand them. "I came back from a trip and I don't remember!" What you don't remember? Refresh your memory. You make fun of yourself. You lie to yourself.LITO wrote:Better not argue with those obstinate Italians , they have their own rules and think hits made in Italy are sleazy if not made by Italians , we are not welcome theregooglejaps wrote:Retorical question: If you come back from a trip, and you don't remember where you received one of the notes you got. If you consider correct insert notes from Centralbank of Munich in Bibione we have finished to speak, only one thing: no centralbank in Bibione

Re: Suspicious notes and users
I didn't check out the notes of tram-love properly, and yes, I think it's unfortunate, but no, I don't consider it location faking. Location faking to me would be to pretend having received a note somewhere where it never even got. By putting the location in the comment, user tram-love shows he doesn't fully understand the system, or he's lazy, but I wouldn't say it's suspicious, nor location faking. If, as Lasterpaule suggests, it's the comment that is wrong, it's also very unfortunate, a combination of laziness and disarray, but again, not combination faking. Unless the cleaning girls find more evidence, of course.
You don't believe Sylvie got the notes in Rome. Perhaps you're right, it definitely deserves further investigation. But only improbability is not enough to claim it's not possible. I believe it's up to the cleaning girls to do their job: investigating, and moderating or deleting the notes if appropriate. I don't consider it my (nor others) task to judge.
Some of my entering habits: If I find a note with unknown origine, I enter it in the place where I am at that moment, when it's just the number without further explanation, I enter it in my default location, with comment 'origin unknown'. Very often, I already entered them, but forgot, but sometimes not. If my parents give me a list of notes (with their respective location), I presume I can trust them. They don't bother entering them theirselves, but there's no use either for foul play.
