But I have a problem now: What should I do with the note? Should I send it back to circulation hoping it will be re-entered again someday or should I keep it as a trofé(is that english?)
Congratz!! You've hit Garrett! It's his 6th hit, I think! No hits for me last months :( . I should live in Finland  .
Take a good look at the note for the last time and spend it at some place with many active EBTers. Maybe you'll be the 1st to get a very rare 3x-hit  .

In fact I don't have it anymore. :( It was my mother's note, I only wrote down it's info this morning, so I've never really had it. I thought I still had it because I had another 20euro bill with the same shortcode.
Maybe I'll go and ask my mother if she still has it so I could get it back because for me it's more valuable than just 20euro. :)
It's a pity that there aren't many EBT users in Turku, that lowers my chances. Don't blame me, I've tried, but most of my firends have only visited once, although I remind them about EBT regularly.

Let your note go. You know for sure that a least 25 people in the rest of Europe will be looking for your note. Well, I am

I still have the already famous hit-note and I've written on it:

050702Nurmijärvi
051102Turku
Where next?
www.eurobilltracker.com

That's what I call advertising. I don't usually url my notes, I wrote the url on a few of them about a month ago but none of them has come back.
I'm just worried that maybe my text is too big and the note will be soon removed from circulation. I don't want that to happen. I would kinda like to take a chance of getting it entered again with little bigger odds but then on the other hand it could actually reduce the chances.

Indeed, you have to find an equilibrium there.
I for myself write the URL discretely in the margin, on the less glossy side of the bill. I spend my bills the other side up, so I do not get any comments from the shop owner or whoever accepts the money, and it is taken up in circulation, until somebody by coincidence takes a closer look at it.

idem here.
I seldom write on my notes, but sometimes I do write www.eurobilltracker.com on my 5 euro notes.
Those notes are more likely to stay in circulation.
Notes of 50 euro and more are mostly returned to the bank I think, but smaller notes are kept as change.
I usually write it at the back side (the side with the bridges) at the right side of the note.
After the denomination (5 in this case) is a small strip where there's nothing written.
I just write it there.
And I spend the notes with the windows-side up, so noone notices it until it's given away again.
Hopefully someone will see it then. :)

This will probably cause disqualifying in the next round in Bank of Finland. :(

Finnish notes are fast travellers. This explains my multiple hits everywhere from the country. Compared to a Greek note, that goes from pocket to pocket for two years until bank gets it back, Finnish notes go through the Bank of Finland 7 times a year. That is calculated mean circulating time.

My suggestions is to keep all Finnish notes as new looking as possible so they will be handed out back to circulation from the Bank of Finland.

Yeah, probably that's true, very likely that wouldn't be sent back to circulation even if it's written in the right margin of the bridges side. I've been thinking of the text and that's why I still have the note, I haven't decided wether to leave the text or not. Maybe I'll just erase the text to keep some kind of chances for a hit. That note looks new so it'll probably stay in circulation for a long time.(unless it goes to a wrong person after me.)

Antti wrote:I'm still waiting for my first hit. (I only have 150 notes, so it doesn't surprise anyone) And I'd be interested to know how many notes it takes to get a hit. They say chances for a hit are quite small. I don't know how small, so I decided to ask you, though most people here don't have a hit, but some people do, some even more than one, I think. It's a common dream of all EBT:ers, getting a hit, and so I wanted to find out approx. how many notes I still need.

Somewhere around 150 notes I got my first hit, now (283 notes) still waiting for a second hit .
