Visiting Slovenia [In English]
Hi together,
from next sunday on, I´ll live in Maribor and work as teacher for German language in a school in Maribor. My stay will be till christmas.
Although I have three tourist guides about Slovenia, I´d like to ask for some insidertips. Are there interesting places/ clubs/ pubs (special pubs, where they play harder rock music/ heavy metal) in or around Maribor, or places you think I should see, which perhaps aren´t mentioned in tour guides??
Thanks a lot.

I guess users that live there aren't at home
I would help you if your destination was Ljubljana and it's neigbourhood. My vistits to Maribor aren't often, but I think you can't miss if you go to old city centre. If you ever visit Ljubljana, you should go to Orto Bar or Metelkova if they don't demolish it before.

I'm not from MB, but as far as I know there are not many (if any) such places with live music there. But probably you will get the best information from people in the town.Honk wrote: Are there interesting places/ clubs/ pubs (special pubs, where they play harder rock music/ heavy metal) in or around Maribor,
Have a nice stay, Maribor is quite a nice town (for my taste at least).
Hi Slovenian friend, I need your help.
I'm looking for something to do in New Year's Eve and one of my ideas is a car trip to Ljubljana.
Is there some kind of celebrations?
What do you suggest once there (hotels, meseums, monuments,...)?
Thanks in advance

Expect live music and crowds in the old city center, fireworks at midnight.ravestorm wrote:...one of my ideas is a car trip to Ljubljana.

A quick google check reveals that National gallery will be closed on monday and tuesday (31.12. and 1.1.) and National museum of contemporary history will be closed on tuesday (1.1.). In general, museums are open between 10-18 including sundays.

Hi! Next week end I will be in Nova Gorica for few hours, but I shurely try to have/give bills. I've got a little question: is the zip code of Nova Gorica 5000 or it is not?
Hvala!

I am afraid that I can stay only a very short time in Nova Gorica: I am going to Gorizia, but I want to track from Slovenija too

Hmm, I cannot find 2113 (in Maribor) - 2112 is there, 2115 is there; but I was in the post office in a small shopping center (not Europark) last year, and that had postal code 2113. Has that been closed? Or is it just so unimportant as to not show up there?
