Voting topic for the new EBT icon

Post by avij »

I had to create this new topic so you could vote for your favourite bookmark icon. There was a technical reason for this, phpBB didn't like that I tried to reuse an existing poll that had been running in the original topic for a few days.

Looks like we didn't get any additional suggestions despite the extended deadline. The voting starts now and ends after 7 days, phpBB should close the poll when that time has passed. I don't know the exact time when the poll closes, but it'll be closed on Monday at the latest.

We're voting about the icon design. This means that the winning icon might not be exactly pixel-for-pixel the icon that gets placed on the site, it may have to be adjusted somewhat for technical reasons. This will be done in cooperation with the icon artist. I've also combined wouter's suggestions into one voting slot, so votes would not be split between his two similar entries. If wouter wins the vote, we'll decide here which one of his icons will be used. Wouter's second image may seem a bit blurry, that's because I wanted to have a 32x32 image of each submission (as stated in the rules) and all I had from the 2nd image was a 16x16 image, so I had to resize it.

The candidates are:

1) Kettenseger "letters E,B,T stacked on top of each other"

2) Wouter "Euro-sign and BT"

4) Micro "EBT"

5) Micro "Euro-paw"

Good luck everyone :) I won't be around next week, so I hope to see a lot of votes when I come back.

I just realized that my browser selection for the example images wasn't optimal as MSIE doesn't support tabbed browsing. The icon would be visible in the tab as well with such browsers. I've updated the browser screenshots to include Mozilla screenshots as well. Thanks to Micro for the original screenshot.

I was thinking that in order to do any good the icon should also be visible on the site and imho the euro track looks nice but it wouldn't really fit with the site's design. That's why I vote for wouter's icon, not perfectly fitting with the design either but better then the eurotrack

Hmm... Seems we almost have a winner... I guess competition is dead when the webmaster himself chooses it for his avatar
Anyway, since I like to be in minorities ;) I voted for Eurofan's icon.

Thanks for the support. It is nice to have some support although there is a very good competetor. Of course my logo is very easy to change to the site desing a this moment I try to make one in the right colors.
But I'm very limited in the use of graphical programs. As mentioned before I mostly use paint and Irfanview.
And it doesn't work how I would like it to  .

yeah, I think there's no doubt about the winner, so many votes cast, probably not so more to come (the difference is 13 votes already) so guess we'll have the europaw then as our new icon. but we'll see what is going to happen with the site's design.
