Here comes a stupid question.

I noticed that there are both Belgian and Dutch people who live in Deurne. Which one of the following options is the correct one?

A) There is a town called Deurne both in Belgium and Netherlands;
B) some of the users have marked a wrong country;
C) Deurne is located on the border of Belgium and Netherlands so that there is a Belgian and Dutch side

I know Deurne is in the netherlands but don't know if it is also in Belgium.
It is possible, Hasselt is also belgium and dutch city

Is true, Deurne is a town in the Dutch province Noord-Brabant and it is als a town in Belgium.

By the way there are more of those names (I don't have them by hand).
Even within the Netherlands there are more places with the same name (Velp, Aalst, Afferden ...)

The same goes for Hasselt, Aalst and Zwijndrecht

both are in the 2 countries

it happens more Linz is also in Germany and Austria
(I know that because I drove trough Linz, Germany)

From the cities/towns with a name in Belgium and the Netherlands I already knew it before.
St. Hubert is in the Netherlands as well etc.

So they seem to be two different towns.

Maybe there should be a system which shows the difference between different towns of same name when you check the information.

But maybe it is not that essential after all. There are so few cases anyway.

There's the same situation with Soest (in the Netherlands and in Germany).

And there are also cities/towns with the same name in the Netherlands.

Heusden (2x)
Afferden (2x)
Zwolle (2x)
Rijswijk (3x)
Beek (4x)

And lots of more situations like this
Most of the times one of them is a very small town

according to the German book of zip codes, there are in Germany:

36x Reichenbach
34x Neukirchen
32x Neustadt

of course, most of them are only small villages that don't have their own zip codes and belong to another town

Let's make things more complicated here... there are 2 towns called Deurne in Belgium!

Deurne is not only a town close to Antwerp. There's also a small Deurne that makes part of Diest. In local language, the small Deurne is pronounced 'Duujen' so local people aren't often mistaken between those two.
