The colour of an Eurozone country
I can remember little discussions about changing the colours in the diffusion charts. But now I’m wondering what colour for what country.
The only one I can think of is orange for the Netherlands.
What about the other countries?

I don't know about Belgium....
maybe red ?
I think the Netherlands should get orange, I think there aren't any other countries with that color....
Isn't France also blue ?
I think it's gonna be very difficult to find a nice color for every country...

Tiger : Dutch, English, French, German
Little Spanish and Italian
Trying Finnish and Japanese

Trying Finnish and Japanese
Just a few suggestions:
Red: France, Spain, Portugal, UK, Denmark, Belgium, Germany, Austria
Orange: The Netherlands, Ireland, Germany, Belgium, Spain
Yellow: Spain, Belgium, Germany, Sweden
Green: Ireland, Italy, Portugal, Sweden
Blue: Finland, Greece, France, Luxemburg, UK, Sweden, Italy
Purple/violet: France, UK, Luxemburg
I just wrote down the colors of the rainbow and put the countries behind. I only know national colors of the Nerherlands (orange), Ireland (green), and Italy (blue). Are there more?
The colors green, orange and purple are less common in the flags, so I used green also for countries, which have blue and yellow in their falgs, like Sweden. The color purple is in none of the flags, but some have blue and red.
I think it is possible to create 3 distinguishable shades of each of the 6 colors above. There are probably even 5 or 6 distinguishable shades of blue and maybe 4 or 5 distinguishable shades of red. So we have a choice of more than 20 colors.

Oh for heaven's sake, Craft, don't be so practicalCraft wrote:Oh for heaven's sake, just change the pie chart colours to more distinctive ones and write on the top: "The colours are purely for making the diagrams readable. They don't reflect any national symbolism, and are non-negotiable."

Here's my complete suggestion (I was a little bored...jaker wrote:Oh for heaven's sake, Craft, don't be so practicalCraft wrote:Oh for heaven's sake, just change the pie chart colours to more distinctive ones and write on the top: "The colours are purely for making the diagrams readable. ! We need a good fight in this forum somewhere and this one has a lot of potential!

Finland: very very light blue
Portugal: dark red
Austria: purple
Netherlands: orange
Luxemburg: no colour needed
Italy: light blue
Ireland: green
France: white
Spain: yellow
Germany: black
Greece: dark blue
Belgium: light red
I definitely cannot agree. We have to consider that the German fraction in most pie charts will be the biggest or second biggest. This requires a color, which relaxes the beholder. A big black section in the pie charts will create aggressions. The color for Germany should be more calming and it should not be predominant. This could be a shade of yellow or amber or a peaceful bright green. I also would like a blue shade, but there are already many other countries, which are easier to contribute to the color blue.iveohc wrote:...Luxemburg: no colour needed![]()

I also feel obliged to express the opinion, that France should not be represented by neutral and indefinite white. AFAIK France and the Frenchmen, they are always very definite. Please give France a definite color.
Of course we have to provide a color for Luxemburg. Luxemburg participates in the Euro. The fact that Luxemburg does not apply its own code letter does not mean that Luxemburg will do without own color.
