Phone cards

I feel a great sense of nostalgia for the era of phone cards, and I still have many of them in my collection...

In Italy (where the world's first official public phone cards were released in 1976) they haven't been issued since 2018, and the few remaining public phones are no longer operational.

Do you have any phone cards saved? Are there still any working public phones where you live?

Oh I do remember these, even though I'm born in this century. My parents gave me their old ones to play with and I might still have some around in one of my misc. cartons.

There are some public phones still remaining in Germany, but all of the Post and Telekom booths have since been removed. All other public phones either have their glass screens broken or their phone cord ripped out. There's not one I can remember seeing recently that's not been vandalized. And I think even if they weren't they wouldn't function
